The Mexican legend was 33 yrs old and past his best by the time they fought but we often, and often unrealistically, look for fighters of such status to reach deep and turn back the clock in a fight of such magnitude.

It wasnt to be that night and to see him get beat like that sucked.
I never really liked the golden-plated boy b/c of stuff like that...fought an old Chavez, an old Camacho & got a gift over Felix Sturm to keep his ass kicking appointment with B-Hop

Mine was definatly Roy Jones getting knocked out by Tarver. I got seriously into boxing because of watching Roy Jones HL's. To see an ATG get KO'd by a guy just barely over journeyman status sucked. Especially since Tarver was so smug and clowning him before the fight.
Kostya rough housed just as much as Hatton did in that fight. He even admitted so afterwards. If Kostya was injured, it was because Hatton did it to him. Tszyu was urinating blood and had to get his head checked after the fight.

Ironically enough, one of my favorite moments is Roy getting KO'd by Tarver. Kinda funny like that huh? A cocky, wannabe gangster who wasted his entire prime getting his comeuppance by someone who told him he was going to do it.

Although I will say that him getting KO'd by Johnson in the very next fight afterwards was downright scary to watch.

I knew Gatti was done heading into Baldomir. I remember being the only one who thought Baldi was going to whip him. He should've retired after that fight, but he went on and suffered another expected defeat. Gatti was never a welterweight and he had that working against him, but he had nothing left as a fighter at that point anyway. Mayweather ruined him in my opinion.

Kostya was so banged up at that point. He had bad shoulder problems and achillies tendon injuries. Tsyzu was 36, injury ridden and at the end of his rope.

And how did Roy waste his prime??

rjj also beat james toney in his prime. and moved up to HW and won against john ruiz who is pretty legit, despite being boring.

If Tszyu was so past it, then why did he annihilate Sharmba Mitchell in the fight before Hatton. Tszyu was a heavy dog in that one and Tszyu was ranked #4 P4P heading into the Hatton fight. In 2005, Tszyu would've beaten everyone in his division except for Hatton, Mayweather and maybe Cotto.

Roy Jones spent his entire prime looking for the biggest money to take on the easiest challenges. In his entire career, the only two great fighters he's ever beaten are James Toney and Bernard Hopkins. Don't get me wrong, those two are amazing but Roy has a 20 year career, he should have more great wins on his resume than those two.

That's why Roy is fighting now, because he realizes how damaged his legacy was and how disappointing his career was to a lot of people. That is why in the past 5 years he has taken more risks (Tarver 3x, Calzaghe, Trinidad and Green) now than he had while he was on top. Roy doesn't need the money, he wants that last great win.

Tarver, Trinidad and Green are bigger risks than he took in his prime? ROFLMAO. Tarver is barely above journeyman, Trinidad was WAY too small to be fighting Roy, and Green I like but is just above journeyman level himself. What the fuck makes Green or Tarver better than a Reggie Johnson, or even a Merqui Sosa?

Everyone is quick to criticize Jones for not fighting anyone (bs), but they can never tell me who he ducked. You can look at Mayweather and say he avoided Cotto, Williams, Margarito, ect. Who did Roy Jones avoid?

Actually speaking of Reggie Johnson (a guy who Roy dominated and pitched a total shutout against), 3 years later he whipped Tarver's ass and got robbed with a unjust split decision.

Reggie Johnson was a fantastic boxer, gave a prime Lamar Parks his only loss and was the only man to legitamitely knock down James Toney. But people never heard of him, they've heard of guys like Tarver and GReen.

The point is that great fighters like Roy dispatch of these outclassed foes just llike they r supposed to,and that being in spectacular fashion.

A death. What's that, a bonus ? I think the life cycle is all backwards.

You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work.

You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement.

You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities.

You become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating... you finish off as an orgasm.

It's perfect !

Gatti getting destroyed by Mayweather. The fight was one-sided from the first bell. After 3 rounds, Gatti's face was worse than Frank Mir's after his 2nd fight with Lesnar. I was a big Gatti fan, so it was hard to watch.
