It appears the meeting between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Glover Teixeira that was once scheduled for UFC 153 will indeed take place after all.

Following Teixeira’s dominant TKO win over Fabio Maldonado in Rio de Janiero, the Brazilian said in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan that he would like for the fight with Jackson originally booked for the Oct. 13 card to be his next fight.

It appears the news got around to “Rampage” as on Sunday afternoon the 34-year-old stated via Twitter he not only would like to fight Teixeira, but it would be “Fight of the Night”.

“Yo @danawhite set up that fight with Glover please!” Jackson wrote. “Lets give him what he wants..fans I won’t let u down #fightofthenight”

Shortly after, White responded to Jackson’s request, tweeting “sounds good bro” to the former light heavyweight champion.

Jackson (32-10) has one fight left on his contract and plans to leave the organization after his next fight. He would like to go out with a bang, though, and a match up with Teixeira has fireworks written all over it. The Tennessee native has had a well documented clash with UFC management in recent months and has been eager to get his finale fight of the way so he can move on from the UFC. “Rampage” was forced out of UFC 153 with an elbow injury but it appears he is nearly healthy and ready to compete once again. Jackson coming off losing back-to-back losses at the hands of Jon Jones and Ryan Bader and has dropped three of his last five fights.

Teixeira (19-2) has only fought in the UFC twice but has already proven to be one of the most dangerous fighters in the world at 205-pounds. Teixeira’s win over Maldonado at UFC 153 marked the Brazilian’s 17th consecutive victory over the past six years, 16 of which have come by (T)KO or submission. Should he be matched up against Jackson, the 32-year-old will be in for the toughest test of his career, as he has never fought an opponent with the credentials of “Rampage”.

No further information about a date or location for a potential Jackson vs. Teixeira is known at this time.

He is/was a charismatic, funny guy who had some of the most memorable moments in MMA history.

His lack of passion for the sport over the past few years really shines through though....

I was a Rampage fan for a long time and was in denial up until even the Bader fight. Never again will I root for this guy. He lost to Bader dammit. In Japan. I got all excited when he came out to the PRIDE theme and about a minute into the fight I knew that it was over. Let Glover make a name off of him.

I personally think Rampage could make it close or even win against Glover...
Let's not forget Glover's chicken dance in the Maldalnaldodoano fight.

I also would would like to see Rampage retire Forrest after that BS decision in their first fight.

KOing wandy was impressive but much after his days of being good and those other KO's are a decade old. He's done and an unbelievable mouthpiece who has his own foot in his mouth more often than not.

Maldanado ,a fighter with a boxing backround who got the shit kicked out of him lands a shot and rocks him one time and suddenly he is exposed and his hype is lost. ???? MMA forum logic I guess. If Page takes this fight, he looks like he is trying to talk his way out, will have a one shot punchers chance and that is it. He most likely will loose this one and look bad in doing so. As far as Forrest, I would rather have him seen retire with Tito. I have nothing against him, but do not care to see him take up a slot on a PPV card.
