Most interesting non-LHW opponents for Jones?

it's going to be hard for anybody at 205 to take out Jones, obviously. which non-LHW fighters would you most like to see against him? granted, we probably won't see any non-LHW match ups against him for a long time, if ever.. except MAYBE anderson silva. that is iffy.

so who would you want to see besides the obvious: silva?

i think daniel cormier would be good, he's not a huge HW and i think he's even talked about possibly dropping down eventually. jones is light, but can probably reasonably make heavyweight fine too and his skills would make it kind of fair. cain velasquez would be good too. anybody else? or is him fighting HW's stupid? i also would like to see him against frank mir, but frank is pretty damn huge these days.

maybe i just want to see him get his ass kicked so bad that i'm making myself believe it's fair. how about JDS? that'd be a sweet beatdown. JDS is less than 240 isn't he?

Cormier said he would like to fight Jones. If Cain were to beat JDS, I think there is a strong possibility that he would do it. JDS would be another good choice since he's not a huge HW. He would fuck Jones up too. He should also fight Struve just so he can be on the other end of a reach advantage.

Why not JDS? I'd love to see a champ vs champ fight.

I think it's a winnable fight for Jones as well, due to the fact that he uses his reach very well and JDS mostly just uses boxing.

Sadly, their reach is the same. But at least he won't have a huge reach advantage for once. Anderson is a bad style match up. He'd dump him on his back at will. I'm not completely sold on Cormier yet, still a little green. But I think that'd be the best fight right now. Him or JDS. I think the only non-LHW fight that will sell is a superfight.

Wow, didnt know the reach was the same.

I agree Cormier is green, but Jones would not be able to take Cormier down, and I think Cormiers stand-up is growing in leaps and bounds.

I think Cormiers skill set would be hard for Jones to exploit.

JDS would beat the shit out of Jones.

Jones would have gotten boxed up by Rampage if he would have engaged more, JDS wouldnt go down so easily to the takedown or cage bullying due to his size.

Jones should stay at LHW if he wants to be remembered as great.

Jones is good no doubt, but I do not agree that no one at LHW can beat him, not just yet. He still has Hendo and 2 fighters that are rerelativly unknown that have been tearing though the ranks in Teixeira and Gustafsson. And I doubt A Silva will ever have the balls to step up to the challenge. In case you have not noticed he has never really wanted to face stiff challenges before, hell he is still calling out a welterweight in GSP even if he losses to Condit.

According to a BMA study around 82% of men who took part in the vicious fights were gay before they started and another 12% became gay during their first fight.

The remaining 6% took part in cage fighting because they wanted to beat up gay men.

As for Cormier being green, he destroyed Bigfoot and handled Barnett with no problem. He is ready for any challenge, he has been asking for it. DC is the real deal.

This is strange to me. Jones wouldnt fight Fael cause he didnt have time to practise for him. You think he would fight JDS? Common

Chris Weidman would be a pretty good fight. i think hes about equal with jones on the ground it would just be a matter of getting some stand up going with jones fucking staying away doing that pussy knee kick he does.

"I would wrestle the shit outta Jon Jones." - Cormier.

Cormier, Cain and dos Santos, but Jones has a chance versus all of them. I think a heavyweight super-athlete like dos Santos has the best shot at this point.

As long as he can prevent the takedown, JDS would make Jones look like he doesn't know what he's doing. And who knows, we haven't really seen Dos Santos on ground, he might be perfectly capable of choking his ass out too.
