Do you think it is contrived at all to hype a fight? If so, did one or both fighters attempt to contrive it?
Also, if you do not think it was contrived, who do you think was in the wrong?
Normally I do not care about this sort of stuff, but I am hard pressed to think of two more douchey, full-of-themselves fighters than these two. And then there's Greg Jackson who just strikes me as a total sleezeball.
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, the other to the Lord.
Looking back at the footprints in the sand, he noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
The Lord replied, "My son, My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
I dont think its contrived, but I dont think its anyone's fault.
This is an individual sport.
If you're training on the same team, center or camp then you should know in the back of your mind that to be champ then you may one day be facing a team-mate because their ultimate goal is to be champ as well.

i dunno. i think rashad is hyping the fight, but at the same time i think he's hitting jones with truth so it has to be at least a little personal. and i think jones is mad

Jones is arrogant, but cmon, he is the ufc light heavyweight champ at 23. I saw the rashad/jones interview on sportsnite and Rashad seemed way madder. Oh, he mad alright.
