“I spoke to Anthony’s manager just a few hours ago and he told me that he was really disappointed, but he respects the decision. He would consider going down to 145 to fight Aldo. This is definitely something to monitor.”
While on the UFC on FUEL TV “UFC Tonight” program, Fuel reporter, Ariel Helwani, divulged that Anthony Pettis may be interested in dropping down a division to challenge for the UFC featherweight title.
He was in talks to rematch Benson Henderson after the two picked up wins at UFC 144, however Frankie Edgar was able to successfully talk his way into a rematch and that means Pettis got skipped over.
Gilbert Melendez is interested in having Pettis come over for a crack at the Strikeforce strap, but the Pettis camp may have other plans.
