Rampage saying he would fight for $500, and then complains that he isn't getting paid what he's worth. Is it the fact that Rampage doesn't want to train to make weight, which if that's the case he could fight as a heavyweight. Or the fact that he doesn't have the take down defense to fight wrestlers, so he's frustrated that he can't match up with these guys. If this is the case Rampage, go try your hand at boxing or kickboxing. Because obviously, wrestlers have dominated MMA forever. They are not going away. And to see you hand pick fighters would be a disgrace. Either train to fight and make weight, go up a weight class, or retire. That's my opinion.

True that. It seems like he keeps those around who stroke that ego rather than push him to be a better athlete. I understand wanting to put on a show but if he doesn't want to fight a "mixed" fight, then why the hell doesn't go over to boxing or kickboxing?

The truth is that he would probably get tuned in both if he fought any real competition.

Hearing the interview, somehow I got the feeling that Rampage considers himself more of an entertainer than an athlete. He wants to bag great Ws to make him more marketable to the movie industry and wants UFC to help him with that. Which is such utter bullshit and so unprofessional of him. The HRT is understandable and to an extent acceptable as long as it is not abused but expecting hand picked opponents to further one's movie career is an insult to the sport imo.

Frankly I wouldn't mind if they just kept him around and put him in fights with people who want to keep it standing. There plenty of fighters on the roster who aren't even close to title contention, and never will be. Guys like Pat Berry & Kongo are kept around just for entertainment sake (though I don't find Kongo particularly entertaining). If Rampage wants to be in the same boat, I say let him. It's just a shame because he still has what it takes to be in contention.
