a good example is the philippou/mcgee fight. these guys gave a pretty good effort, but whenever they stopped swinging for 10-15 seconds the crowd got restless.

I had mm winning the first two close and mcCall dominated the third obviously. Prolly did enough for a 10-8. Should have gone to sudden death.

Unfortunately the Australian UFC crowds are exactly like the American ones. The place is 90 percent drunks and dickheads and guys who just want to look tough.

It also attracts the people who just want to be seen at the Latest Thing, and who become experts overnight.

So you're going to get the jerks who boo everything, and the real fans usually sit back and put up with it.

And with the Mardi Gras that night, Sydney was a stranger blend of fags and douchebags than usual on Sunday.

lol. i think the american crowds have gotten a lot better over the last year or two though, theres a lot less booing these days and they seem to appreciate the ground stuff and striking strategy more. i'm sure an aussie crowd on a different night would be better too, sometimes the american crowds are still the same as that too.

There is a good level of knowledge of MMA in Australia, but there is a very high percentage of fuckwits as well.

I have never seen a live Pride event ,but I rented as many DVD's as I could find and I have never heard the Japanese fans boo. But at the last PPV UFC Japan, they were booing!!! I don't remember which fight it was or if they did it more then one time. Anyone else catch that???

It was the Bader Rampage fight. I figured a few UFC regulars made their way off the bar stools and headed to Japan.

Then again maybe they were not booing the fight. They could have showed a shot of Dana on the jumbotron!!
