One FC aftermath

Well I liked the show.

Most of the fights were great, except the Baroni/Yoshida match.

Baroni came to fight but Yoshida held him down. Too bad.

For the first event they did a good job, not too many problems.
Surprisingly the stream was very good, shitdogs track record of streaming events have been horrible, but props to them.

Bas Rutten as usual was awesome as a commentator.

I was disappointed that only one fight a guy utilized knees to a grounded opponent, and only one half assed attempt at a soccer kick. Oh well most of the fights there was a finish and the fights that did go the distance were great to watch.

I give it 7/10

Bas was awesome
Baroni showed 0 TD defense
Agree that Yoshida could have been more busy on the ground but he was in side control for much of it.

I was on the fence on giving it a 6 or a 7...I gave it a 7 based on first performance.

Due to the fact that I would expect higher profile fights, title fights and better production.

But all in all the fights were exciting.

I missed it too. I was hoping for some more stomping or soccer kick action.

Hopefully this org will grow and evolve. Remember the first UFC and Pride events were pretty horrendous(yet hilarious).

The early UFCs were awesome with no rules and style vs style fights.

Prides 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 were not bad, but I remember plenty of snorefests in Prides 2, 4, 6, 8, 9

yeah but you had some long lay and pray fights back then, the sport would have never grown popular without time limits and standups which were evolved in the UFC and Pride

Yeah, Shamrocks second matches with Royce and The Beast set the sport back a good couple of years.

I just finished watching it last night. I give it a 5/10. It was okay.

Fighters invited to this event for the most part had very little MMA Pro experience. Very few even used the new rules to their advantage.

Yodsanan showed some great MMA skill for a former pro boxer. But when they came out to shake hands, he went for a KO punch instead. Bitch move IMO.

Folayang vs Kwon in the main event was the fight of the night for me. Both guys were super tough. Folayang reminded me a lot of Cung Le, with his build and his side kicks.

I am looking forward to One FC's second event. Hopefully they will invite some fighters with a lot more experience and they will use Pride rules to their advantage.
