MMA fighter vs. boxer in a streetfight?

Hey maybe you guys could help me out with this. I have been having this argument with my husband for years now. He says that no way anyone could beat a champ boxer in a street fight and that boxing is the best form of fighting for the streets.

I told him that an MMA fighter could just take down the boxer and choke him out but he says by that time the fight would be over becaise the MMA fighter wouldnt know the boxer could box and he would get knocked out before he would even think of taking it to the ground. He then said that all you would need is a sprawl to avoid being taken down and its harder to take someone down on the street anyway.

He says that MMA guys are delusional for thinking they can beat a boxer.

My husband says its not practical to shoot someone during a streetfight and that will cause you to end up in prison. Sometimes a man has to defend his honor with fists and you can't just pull a gun out and kill someone.

Well you could show him some examples, For instance James Toney vs Randy C. , Now that may be a bad example because Randy is a lifelong good wrestler and Tony had no ground game at all. But a better example would be Mercer vs Kimbo. Now Kimbo was new to the ground game and took Mercer down and submitted him. An example of a MMA guy stupid enough to stand with a boxer would be Mercer vs Big Tim Silvia. Does your husband watch MMA at all? I cant think of one pure boxer that had any success at all in MMA from the start. Jimmerson, Melton Bowen, James Tony, Ray Mercer all were beaten easy when it hit the ground. Anyway it is good to see a female posting in the MMA forum for a change. Be strong, the guys are cruel here. Most have been kicked off other forums (including me) and the rules are pretty laxed here. Why dont you tell us (or me) a little about yourself. Like how old, how long you been watching MMA, How long have you been married, ect. A pic would be good as well so we know who we are talking to. noone goes to the ground in a streetfight because there could be broken bottles and ahem...used condoms on the ground-I dont see what that has to do with anything

he says an MMA fighter will always mistakedly try to box a boxer and get Kod

he says legkicks arent an issue because its hard to throw legkicks when your getting ko'd plus everyone wears baggy pants nowadays and its impossible to throw kicks when you wear baggy pants

he says submissions dont work on the streets because you can just bite your enemy
