    He will be the best backup center in the league and insurance in case Perkins goes down again or gets suspended. He is only making $1.5 million next year so it is a low risk/high reward signing.

    True, he would probably bitch about being the #5 guy on the team, but if he does accept the fact that he is a role player now, then it would be a good signing.

    This is bad for the Celtics...they did not need to get slower and older, Shaq cannot be effective for more than 10 minutes and is a huge defensive liability because he is so slow running the court. Miami and Orlando will pick and pop Boston to death in a half court setting because Shaq cannot defend the pick and roll. The Celtics only filled a roster spot with his signing and did not improve IMHO.
