So they sent me a diff. 360 and a letter explaining shit but not saying shit and the standard one month gold card. The problem here is that unbeknownst to me, the connect button on my wireless controller is busted. 15 minutes of jabbing at it with a pen and it's completely sunk in. So now I have a diff. xbox that apparently works great but I can't connect to it cause my controller is jacked. FML

PS3 - Demons Souls, Uncharted 1 & 2, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Valkryia Chronicles, God of War 3 plus all the big name non exclusives

and best of all online gaming with your PS3 is free so you never have to worry about using your credit card

I would say its worth getting for both the gaming and the Blu Ray capabilities. Its only $300 nowadays so everyone might as well go buy one since things will only get better from here.

I got mine in early 08, had red rings in early 09 and was given new hardware(except the hard drive) and have not had an issue yet. *knocks on wood*

also, ps3 network has improved but it's still scrubby compared to xbl. It's kind of a joke and I'd rather pay 50 bucks for a superior product.

The PS3 network is still severely lacking. There is a reason it's free. Sony has/had plans to charge for in the future but they are miles away from the online offering that MS is bringing to the table at the moment.

If you want Bluray and some exclusive titles... get the PS3. Mine collected dust for almost a year before I started messing around with it. I played the God of War Collection on it and that was dope. Working on the Uncharted series next. If you want to play online mp games with friends... 360 is usually the way to go. Bigger community and more people to play against. PS3 and Wii are all about exclusives.

I don't know man. The only online games I really wanted to play on PS3 have been Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2 Multiplayer. Both were fun and the only difference as opposed to Xbox Live was alot more people have microphones on Xbox Live which is actually really annoying.

Overall I find Xbox Live to be more feature rich and interesting in terms of content but I prefer the online gaming experience on PS3. There are a few exclusives that may make Xbox live more lucrative such as Dead Space or whatever its called.

These claims about Xbox Live being much superior as far as lag and finding games go are mostly unfounded besides maybe the early days of PSN. The infrastructure is actually pretty sweet now especially since its combined with Home. I am not completely on the PS3's nuts however because I still admit that Home is pretty fuckin lame. If you have friends in there its kinda fun showing off your costume and theres a few minigames that are sorta fun like pool.

Comparing the two systems at this point is much different than 2 years ago, At this point the PS3 has gained some serious ground while the Xbox 360 seems somewhat stagnant and the technical limitations of the DVD based system are seeming more archaic by the day. The red ring of death and other associated problems with the hardware have left a bad taste in many a mouth.

I know there are still advantages to sticking with Xbox Live especially since most peoples friend are on it but I still say enjoy free PSN while it lasts. You know Sony is eventually gonna charge if they surpass the 360 in system sales. Right now they have to keep it as an incentive.

I feel like I need to sell everyone on the PS3 so maybe if the install base is large enough they will pump out more innovative games and finally some JRPG's. Its not that I am totally on Sony's nuts I just want more JRPG's and more games that take advantage of Blu Ray technology.
