true. Yet we have to define the question to answer it
No one owns life, but anyone who can pick up a frying pan owns death.

An important distinction to make between materialism and physicalism is that some physicalists posit the existence of non-material entities, e.g., the human mind. It is asserted that the mind is a non-physical entity that emerges from complex operations of the brain, but is not analyzable simply as the sum result of its causes. This is known as property dualism. Materialists, on the other hand, posit all that exists is matter. So the mind, in this view, is identical to the brain. More broadly speaking, though, Materialists and Physicalists hold on to the same assumptions about reality. Only that not all physicalists are comfortable committing to the view that all that exists is matter.
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, the other to the Lord.
Looking back at the footprints in the sand, he noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
The Lord replied, "My son, My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
I don't buy things just to have them. However, my favorite possesions(guitars, iMac, LCD tv, Xbox) were not purchased out of necessity. So I guess I am guilty as charged.
