i'm not into a lot of gimmicky stuff as far as jiu jitsu is concerned but i do like this position.

it's basically a leg entanglement in which you and your opponent are in a mirrored position. right leg crossed over right leg, or left leg crossed over left leg.
big leg lock position, but hall is using it to sweep and pass from also.

There seems to be a bit of controversy about this in the BJJ world.

i actaully work it alot bc im shorter when im in the 50/50 i usually have an advantage...

i usually like to use it and fake go for a heel hook to reverse to a inverted heel hook

yeah, ive trained this for sure. a lot. leg locks might be my favorite group of submissions. you can even go for a pinch or a calf bicycle from there, or work to get your body up and spin to land on your back with the knee bar, and so on.

people really need to study this kind of stuff and know it well. I think leglocks are one of the most untrained areas in mma today.

i think the bicycle is like a calf crank or slicer. and maybe the pinch is a knee separator you can get from there.

but as for leglocks been undertrained you're absolutely right, but that's b/c generally people who train MMA don't train as safely or efficiently as they should. the get something and slap it on and don't think about their training partners as much as they should.
i never let the MMA guys i train with mess with my legs because you never know when you'll get some dude who just learned a heel hook and can't control it.

also, upon further inspection this is a good position to get tapped by noobs in b/c they'll just grab anything they can get and start pulling/twisting/jerking etc.

i figured that would be a slicer but i dont know wat a knee separator is maybe i call it something else...

but for mma guys ur 100% right i dont let the meat head fuck with my ankles;/go for heel hooks...i'll throw em on bc im not an asshole but usually when im training most of the time i jsut suck up my pride and tap really early so we can reset even though i prob coulda escaped i dont wanna risk having a meat head rip my leg off
