    Dragon AGe Origins

I downloaded the 360 version, but havent played it yet... then the PC version came out. I'm downloading that now. I'll let you guys know what I think of it. This game is made by the very same people who made epic games such as KOTOR, Baldur's Gate, Fallout 3, etc.. Very good at what they do.

    Anyway, here's a torrent:

Playing the PC version. About 2 hours in, I'm taking it slow, talking to most npc's, exploring a lot etc. Just got out of the 'starter area' for the mage. Seems relatively easy so far on 'normal' difficulty.

Plays wonderfully. Both gameplay and technical wise. The starter area looked kind of bland, but once outside the scenery is much more impressive (running it maxed out @ 2048x1158 resolution + 2xAA)

I'm pretty sure this game will take me quite some time to finish what with all the different options/choises and me, like with previous Bioware, going back and forth between saves to see the effects/consequences they have.

I'm waiting till winter break to grab this guy so I can play it for a stretch without stopping, 'm super excited.

Is the story more ambiguous like Neverwinter? Or focused like Baldurs Gate 2? Is my only concern. I'm going to be playing on the console to.

I wanted this for home console, but all the reviews have just been mildly good. 7.5 average (as opposed to the pc version which is averaging a 9). Every year there's one or two games that comes out for pc that I want that make me feel bad for not having a gaming pc and this is one

This game is freaking sweet. I can't wait to get off work to play it again tonight.

Also, I have the 360 version and haven't noticed any problems with it technically or control wise.

From the ign review i watched, apparently the best way to play the pc version is to pause the game frequently in battle to input commands to party members. Supposed to be too tough and hectic to do it in real time.

I'd say it's nearly impossible to play this game entirely in real time on normal difficulty and beyond. Play this game like an action RPG and you will most likely fail. Micromanaging is key, especially when heavily outnumbered by higher level mobs where every attack counts (which will happen often).

Spell combo's are great as well. I love to send in Alistair to tank the mobs (use threaten and shield buffs), use Morrigan to cast that forcefield spell on him so he doesn't take any damage, then just use my main to grease/inferno/fireball the shit out of the mobs around him.

    This game is great.

According to a BMA study around 82% of men who took part in the vicious fights were gay before they started and another 12% became gay during their first fight.

The remaining 6% took part in cage fighting because they wanted to beat up gay men.

Great game. I am about 16 hours into it - 20% of the world explored. I am going through as a Rouge City Elf on normal on the 360. So far I have been playing straight action without micro managing and have leaned heavily on my potions and real time strategy. I have died about a half dozen times, having recently completed the Redcliffe campaign and all the side quests. I give the game about a 7.5 or 8 so far - up to Bioware standards in the KOTOR and Mass Effect tradition. This game plays very similar to both in many ways and the story and your ability to manipulate it are perhaps it's biggest strengths. On the 360 a lot of the backgrounds and textures like trees and mountains and grass seem almost last gen in their quality. The characters buildings and details all look well enough though so while it has not overwhelmingly impressed me with it's graphics, they are not the detriment to the game that some would have you believe.

Im playing it on ps3 as an elf rouge and am at the same part as you. I agree with everything you said. On the consoles its just easier to make the macros for your party members and have them act on there own, only controlling them when you really have too. I give it an 8.5 so far. The graphics are awfu,l but for this type of game i dont think its that important.

Jamming to this, its pretty entertaining for ps3. Its like a walk in the park with a frilly little hat in comparison to demons souls difficulty and unforgiving nature......but theres SO much more of a storyline its a little breath of fresh air.

Can be rather tedious but its killing time for me at the moment

There's about 100 billion different conversation possibilities too. Next time I think i'm going to raise my persuasion skill all the way up right at the start and see who I can fuck with via that.

I up that and Lock pick at every chance I get. I let Alistair and Sten do the heavy lifting in the battles anyway and sneak around back for the back stab...
