Breaking News: MMAWeekly has learned that Vitor Belfort and Pawel Nastula tested positive for banned substances after their respective fights on Pride's "Real Deal" card this past Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has confirmed that Nastula tested positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone, while Belfort tested positive for the banned substance 4-hydroxytestosterone, which is also banned in Major League Baseball and other sports.

All of the other fighters who were drug-tested on the Pride card passed their drug tests.

nastula's drug nandrolome is also a bovine streoid and can be in the blood stream if u eat beef that has been injected with it. so he's presumed innocent before proven guilty.

and as for belfort...as i said before he's past his used by date. just go reture and teach BJJ and boxing in hollywood or something dude seriously your not contributing much to the sport by taking drugs

Sad about Nastula if it is a false positive cause hes still gonna get the stigma. but Vitor is ridiculous, the guy needs to stop fighting.

Vitor has always been on steroids people, Look at his early fights, how friggin ripped he was everywhere like Hulk Hogan and then he moved super fast like the flash. I didnt expect that from Nastula though but I probably would take steroids too if they kept making me fight the best HW's in mma.

IMO it is pretty believable that they both took roids. Vitor has looked like it for a while, and Nastula all of a sudden had Arlovski's build. Haha

it actually occurs naturally...alot of fighters take creatine in their diet to boost muscle etc and also can be produced from huge amounts of cardio. now hopefully in nastulas case, looking the way he did, he has been doing a lot of cardio, taking creatine..this produces quite a lot of nandralone im lead to believe.

i know of cyclists who have had prostate tests as well as skin tests to guage quantities, but because it is such a quick drug (6 days and its out of your system). the major side effect is cardio damage, you gas real suddenly, but nastula didnt IMO...i think hes genuine. hes polish they eat lots of sausages and he probly worked out in altitude or something. dont presume hes guilty just yet he really brought it to barnett last weekend.

as for belfort....the shit he was taking was taking is bad. its side effects are reduced anabolic activity (explains why he cant ever last ie: sakuraba way back, and real deal he gased against hendo). haha but according to this website im looking at "minimize side effects such as baldness, acne". belfort is going bald that means (unless your randy couture) RETIRE!

Roids (at least the androgenic type) only hasten baldness if someone's genetically predisposed to it in the first place. That's why some juicers have a full head of hair while others are crome-domes.

Nastula was looking really bulked up, he probably just didn't do his cycle at the right time because he was trying to bulk up so hard.

I'm going to agree that MMA has passed Vitor and the guy needs to hang it up.

It's amusing how everyone on forums try to 'help' guys with their omniscient wisdom to decide when they should retire.

Belfort is like 28-29. He has the fastest hands in the history of the sport (when he actually throws them). His grappling on paper is senstational and in the ring is slightly above average. MMA has past people like Coleman who continue to be one dimensional. Vitor on the contrary has always been the total package (physically). He is also probably the second best pure athlete next to Randleman.

For some reason there seems to be a switch in his head that flips down for 'active' and up for 'passive'. It's default setting nowadays is 'passive'. It's starting to frustrate the shit out of me cause if he just engaged then at least if he lost to Hendo, all the Vitor fans, including me, would feel at ease with the fact that he gave it his all. I'm as frustrated as any of his fans but would never think myself in a position to give him career advice.
