in my neck of the woods anything other than realestate is gonna pay you way less in the long or the short term

Pay off debt ASAP, that includes mortgages, why pay interest on something if you don't have to.
Real estate is almost always a good investment.
If you own a small business, keep receipts on everything. You can usually find a spot to use them as a write-off.

Agreed. However, the market fluctuates. Many a times you buy low and end up selling lower. Which is why you need strategies like diversification and selection based on earnings per share.

have insider knowledge
Most of the so called insider knowledge which floats around are just rumors to inflate the prices high enough so that the people floating the rumors can then sell their stock. I thought this was common knowledge by now.
