Ferg.. if you read this, I know you had PC parts picked out for me a couple years ago but I dropped the ball on that build and well.. those parts are all ancient now.

BUT.. I did just get all of my parts for new PC and I will be building it this week.. My main focus was streaming. a lot of it. Most of this was picked by a PC build subreddit user.. I had 4 different techs at work glance at it and not one of them suggested any changes.

The case is fucking huge and has a 200mm fan with option to mount 11 more fans.. basically it's on the brink of being a gaming PC but not quite.

No more glitches when I'm watching fights and super sweet streaming. :sifone:

I bought a lifetime VPN but never used it for streaming, only for torrents.

I got all the components installed yesterday so today I'll do some connecting and possibly get to the OS which is Windows 10.. I hated it the first time I had it but mainly because the tech company that manages our PC's pushed it on all the machines overnight.. I went back to 7 the next day. One of the techs here knows how to tweek it so it has more of a 7 feel so, ya

You can’t use TuneIn or Pandora with Linux? What about video streaming?

‘Building’ this PC was fun and fairly easy with the help of YouTube vids and manuals but loading the OS on for the first time has been a bit of a challenge even for a tech with 30 years experience.. should be ready for me to customize tomorrow morning though and possibly use over the weekend.

If you did a Linux dual boot with a second hard drive, you could surf the net in Linux that way your comp never gets bogged down and slow.

I was thinking of doing that and use Linux Mint per Beets’ suggestion.. this PC however shouldn’t get bogged down. I plan to keep moving storage to external HD’s that I have and keep it light.

What's wrong with a regular old computer? Getting ready for starcraft 3, or just trying to impress the blue haired girls at Game Stop?

I still haven't taken this PC home and used it yet.. Still tweaking and customizing. I bought an additional 8GB RAM and hooked up an external 1TB HDD... This thing is a beast

    Working on WIFI adapter/Bluetooth today
