Support for a new NAFTA.

Recent poll shows Canada in favour of updating pact.

Almost half of all Canadians agree with U.S senators Clinton and Obama and think the North American Free Trade Agreement should be renegotiated, a new poll shows.
The tough talk of the U.S presidential race is finding a receptive audience north of the border where public opinions about the trade deal are mixed, said Mario Canseco, director of global studies for Angus Reid Strategies.

A new poll by his firm found that 51 per cent of Canadians think the United States has been teh big winner in the trade agreement.
Only 8 per cent of those polled think Canada has come out ahead of its two trading partners - the U.S and Mexico.

At the same time, the conservative government is paying a price for its leaks of sensitive diplomatic talks.
49 per cent think the incidents have greatly or moderately impacted the government's credibility - and 39 per cent think the leaks were done deliberately by the Conservatives according to a separate poll on the fallout from "NAFTA-gate". However 43 per cent of Canadians say they're not sure how it happend. And almost half -47 percent- think an inquiry should be held.

"NAFTA-gate" has to do with public leaks about the international highway from Mexico, through the U.S, into Canada. It also has to do with the leak last week that Canadian and American troops may now cross over and inforce law in either Country if a population is considered "in duress".

Not having it announced by the Canadian government is kind of scary too. Who knows what this is going to lead to either.

How come everytime this country gets a conservative government they sell us out to the U.S.A. All the other political parties put up appearances in talking smack on the U.S Government.
