Xbox 360 = has had a 1 year head start and already has a decent number of games in its library, but it sold less in a year than Xbox did a year after it came out.

Wii = Cheapest of the bunch at $250. Currently at the lead with the most systems sold since launch, but still can't shake off its "kids only" image.

PS3 = The strongest brand name out of the 3, but it's also the most expensive. Currently slowing down in sales even though they're available at a lot of the stores.

I voted the wii, reason it appeals to hardcore gamers because of the innovated control system. Plus it appeals to the non hardcore gamers because of the price.

Ill go with the XBOX360, mainly because it already has a lot of dedicated users, and I don't think they are going to be too quick to jump to the PS3, so soon after just getting an XBOX. The 360 is decently solid, and a lot of developers are not making exclusives BECAUSE MS is ponying up big dollars. Money is attractive young one. The PS3 on the other hand, is a mess not because of price, or any other of that stupid shit you mentioned. They are not really supporting devs too well. And that is a big problem. MS is bending over backwards to accomodate and attract everyone else over, while Sony is blowin' it and making it difficult on the dev end. It all ultimately boils down to games, and the devs are the ones making them, if they do not have support, they are going to look for it. i know this isnt uber reliable proof that the PS3s salse are slowing, but they have been readily available for sale at every best buy in my district since mid january. we have been out of stock on 360s more than PS3s in that time. most days we see as many returned, most unopened, as we see sold. i know this isnt indicative of every store country wide, but my district covers most of south-east michigan. in my store specifically, we have had no less than six of them in stock at all times for almost 2 months now. we still cant keep Wii's in stock. had fifty of them come in the other day that were literally gone in less than an hour. no advertising, just word of mouth around town. and i have to say, it makes me very happy to see nintendo doing so well with a system.

I have been seeing the same thing at stores recently. PS3s on shelves. Which isn't too good for Sony. This has been at multiple locations and very frequent. Maybe if there was some good games on the sytem people would buy it. BTW what store do you work at? Or did I forget to read...

the novelty act of nintendo will fade away soon. they are only doin well cuz of their price and because ppl think the control scheme is cool, but it will get old, plus, gamers like to chill and relax and dont want to exert too much energy. wii is a console for kids, but the big kids like most of us will want the hardcore system like ps3 and 360

My dad has had 2 japanese cars, a mazda 323 that had over 180000 miles when we sold it, and it still ran well, and a civic that had about 150000 miles on it and still ran gr8 until some asshole wrecked into him.

i got 2 disagree. with the exception fo 10 games or less i was extrememly disappointed with the 64. I loved the NES, and i loved the SNES even more, so i was extrememly excitied for the 64, but their decision to stay with cartridge's hurt them bad(proven by stats and analysis) compared to discs. I felt almost betrayed by nintendo and proceeded to pawn my 64 and got me a ps1 with ff7 and it was one of the top 3 best decisions i have made in my gamer life to this day(i had to pawn it, i didnt have enuff money to just buy whatever console and game i wanted back then).

i guess it all goes with personal enjoyments.

Man, I was very excited when the Wii came out originally. I thought to myself, 'YES!!! I get to play all my old favorite games ', but then when the Wii came out, the games were gay. Except maybe Zelda, but I had a Gamecube for that. Then my brother picked one up and we played it, and I thought all the games were gay, so I played the VC stuff. And those sucked. And then I realized that the Wii is for people who are semi-retarded when it comes to games and also want to pick up and play rather than engage in the discovery process of your more complex, and better games. Don't get me wrong, the Wii will have more in depth titles, but right now, it is made for the general public, not true gamers. At least this is how I feel from my experiences with it.

Yeah, they seem to have really switched roles this gen. Last gen xbox was the more powerful system, but PS2 had all the exclusive games.
