Super depressing, but great. Neclord 02-17-2007, 05:34 AM I also thought Children of Men was an excellent movie. Clive Owen gives a great performance and the director uses great pacing. twinmatrix101 02-17-2007, 05:36 AM Children Of Men was the best movie I've seen so far this year. I seriously could not say enough good things about it if I tried. Sepiku . 02-17-2007, 06:13 AM It's not terrible blackthorne 02-17-2007, 08:12 PM Are you fucking nuts? This was one of the better movies cinema has offered in a long while. The action scenes were probably the best you're likely to *ever* see. deegs 02-17-2007, 08:39 PM xhale only likes judo movies erskine777 02-19-2007, 01:32 AM wasn't that good...nothing made fricking sense in the movie, they didn't even try to explain why everyone's infertile. blackthorne 02-19-2007, 01:37 AM wasn't that good...nothing made fricking sense in the movie, they didn't even try to explain why everyone's infertile. A wise choice. I can't imagine being bogged down my exposition like "see...infertility was meant as a punishment from God...what with secularism corrupting man's ability, it was only natural that the gods take action against liberal Hollywood values". An explanation would have been retarded, and would have distracted from the impact of the story and its characters. You never see Michael Myers face (one or two exceptions if I remember correctly) but that didn't make him less menacing did it? sic bastard 02-19-2007, 02:47 AM Good movie in my book. Great message and grim outlook. Exactly what the world needs. Clive Owen is great in any movie. erskine777 02-20-2007, 07:14 AM yes, your explanation is certainly retarded and implausible, but to have the credibility for which it strives for, and because it is of the science-fiction genre, it must have a proper background set for the storyline. i agree that the editing and filming was the best and the casting/acting was good, but i've seen pornos that are like that. this movie has no fricking beginning (how the fuck did they end up in that situation) and the end is completely ambiguous. i know the temptation to draw interesting themes from the conflicts or scenes from the movie is very tempting, but at some point you have to realize the different between drawing a conclusion from a pertinent source, and just latching on to bullshit. i see the latter in this movie. xhale 02-20-2007, 07:50 AM weakest..... movie.... ever. |
