He is a terrible person, a tyrant, atrocious crimes, etc. but executing him will just cause more political instability in Iraq. Even throughout his trial and especially when it was announced he was to be hung, his supporters were promising uprising. Now that is he set to be executed in 30 days, we can be sure our troops are really screwed. I have heard the arguement that if he is not executed, the Iraqi people will not feel retribution, but I think that is short-sighted because the long-term implications here pretty much ensure a lack of peace, and namely new dangers for our soldiers.

The thing I found funny was watching Iraqis from Michigan celebrating in the street 1 minute after the surprise hanging which people didn't expect to happen so soon after the sentencing.

By invading and deposing and killing Saddam, now WE have to deal with it by: paying another trillion dollars in tax money to attempt to stabablize the country, watching our troops die for NOTHING, deal with 2 new cultures that hate us (Sunni and Shite, where as prior to the invasion we just had to worry about Wahabbi al-queda fucks).
