He is a terrible person, a tyrant, atrocious crimes, etc. but executing him will just cause more political instability in Iraq. Even throughout his trial and especially when it was announced he was to be hung, his supporters were promising uprising. Now that is he set to be executed in 30 days, we can be sure our troops are really screwed. I have heard the arguement that if he is not executed, the Iraqi people will not feel retribution, but I think that is short-sighted because the long-term implications here pretty much ensure a lack of peace, and namely new dangers for our soldiers.

No, now WE have to deal with it...THEY have lived in the Iraqi shithole for time out of mind. By invading and deposing and killing Saddam, now WE have to deal with it by: paying another trillion dollars in tax money to attempt to stabablize the country, watching our troops die for NOTHING, deal with 2 new cultures that hate us (Sunni and Shite, where as prior to the invasion we just had to worry about Wahabbi al-queda fucks).

Saddams dead,,,, but all of the "problems" he is blamed for are not only still there, they are worse.

1- Iraqi's killing Iraqi's en masse- with the mass graves to show for it.
2- Innocent people getting tortured by the Iraqi gov, or worse, American troops.
3- Fringe radicals who want to work with Al queda and Iran to eradicate American infidels and take the middle-east back to the 5th century.

The American invasion of Iraq was counter-productive to the war on terror, and it is also counter-productive to the stablity of Iraq.
