i was all decked out in my rocky outfit for the premiere.. all dressed up in a grey hoodie, sweatpants, black & white vans shoes, and handwraps and.. all i have to say is wow! =]
it started off a little slow.. but it became really good, really fast.. one thing u have to note is that u *should* watch ROCKY I.. at the least.. and maybe ROCKY II if u have time in order to get the full picture of ROCKY BALBOA... because there are A LOT of references to those prior films..
although it isn't "necessary".. to view the other movies... i truly advise u do so.. otherwise, u could run the risk of viewing the new movie as "shallow" or lacking "depth"..
the film as a whole is awesome.. there wasn't any significant new music in this movie.. and i have to admit that this movie is a real tear-jerker.. (u *NEED* to watch the other flicks to fully understand why it's so sad!)
if i have to nitpick.. i'd say that there should've been more development of a few characters.. mainly the antagonist.... and the movie should've been longer to explain more of the story.. as the movie revolved around the story more than the fight.. (similar to Rocky I and II.. while Rocky 3 and 4 focused more on the fights/training)
yeh, it's not the greatest movie of all time.. but overall.. this is an awesome flick.. and it's fucking ROCKY!!!!!! for god's sake!... and i think it's a much better end to the series that the ridiculously horrible 5th movie..
after just watching it.. my emotions are still in high gear so i give it a 10/10... i'm sure when i calm down.. and watch it a few more times.. i'll be able to give a more objective score.. but the bottom line is:
