The World Boxing Council has notified the camps of WBC super featherweight world champion Marco Antonio Barrera and WBC mandatory contender Manny Pacquiao that the free negotiations period for their mandatory title defense has begun. If no agreement is reached, the WBC will conduct a purse offer on January 12, 2007, in Mexico City. The question is who will be doing the negotiating for Pacquiao, since both Top Rank and Golden Boy have contractual claims. Barrera is a partner in Golden Boy.
Barrera would be underdog for sure

The fucking fights are too far apart. That's why I don't follow boxing very much.

I hope this gets settled quickly this is the very first boxing event I am excited about. Barrera will have to make big adjustments if he is going to win. From a noobie point of view he looked to be just getting punished near the end of the fight, if that happens again I hope his corner steps in a little sooner.
MAB did take a beating in their 1st fight & I'm unsure if he can make the adjustments necessary to beat Pac.
It's hard to see Barrera standing up to Pacs power, but he's a fighter you can never count out.
WAR BARRERA..

There's too much money involved with boxing nowadays. I understand that fighters want to make as big of a purse as possible, but the fact is mega fights are few and far between. Most people like myself have been waiting for the Barrera rematch and thought it would of been a better fight than the Morales deal. And even the Mayweather vs. De la Hoya fight is one that I have been wanting and expecting to see for over two years now.
