LeBanner and Schilt favorites for the title

Eight men will be fighting tomorrow, in Tokyo, for the K-1 World Grand Prix belt. More than fame and glory, the winner will take some US$ 4000,000 home. Specialists point out defending champion Sammy Schilt and French Jerome LeBanner as favorites.

Unfortunately, the favorites will clash as early as the quaterfinals. About the fight, Schilt had little to say and a lot of confidence: "I will show you a great fight, but for me, Jerome is just one of the three." But the declaration didn’t go out unanswered: "My goal is to reach the title, and I wanted to climb the highest mountain first -- and that is this guy, Semmy," said LeBanner.

If Banner and Schilt are hot now, you can’t pass Ernesto Hoost without saying something. In his farewell tournament, the Dutchman who is the only man with four WGP titles is in search for his fifth: "Of course, all things have to end some time and I have peace with that. I have been fighting for 22 years and that is enough. I trained hard and I feel good, it is my intention to become a five-time champion, and this is what I will go for tomorrow," said Hoost in the press conference. Another fighter that comes out strong for the combat is Brazilian Glaube Feitosa. He faces Russian Ruslan Karaev and hopes for a great evening: "I train with Kyokushin, and they trained me hard -- it will be a great fight!" Check out the complete card for K-1 World GP title:
