Six-division world champion Oscar De La Hoya is looking to end his career with a bang. Already booked to fight pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, Jr. on May 5, De La Hoya notes that Winky Wright could possibly be the next fight following Mayweather. As many know, De La Hoya announced a few weeks ago that Mayweather would not be his last fight in the ring, and he would continue to fight as long as his reflexes were with him.

Wright told the LA Daily News, that he is hoping for a bout with De La Hoya to happen in 2007, because Oscar brings the big name and the big bucks to the table.

"Oh, I'm hoping for it, of course," Wright said. "I'm not going to say I wouldn't want to fight Oscar. First of all, besides the money, you're fighting a legend. You're fighting somebody who has been in the game and been on top of his game for a long time. De La Hoya has been in my era since the amateurs to the pros, so that's the fight that I definitely want, you know what I mean?"

De La Hoya also told the paper that he would be all for a showdown with Wright, following his bout with Mayweather.

"Chances are, it can happen," De La Hoya said. "Knowing me, most likely it will happen."

Mayweather has already been listed as the betting favorite, but De La Hoya does not see himself losing the fight. He noted that Mayweather will have to bring more than his A-game to the ring in order to win.

For me to lose, Floyd will have to put on one helluva performance. I really want this one. I feel it inside. Floyd will have to be on top of his game, and then some," De La Hoya said.

Agreed. Oscar is one of the last good things about boxing. He is doing wonders with his prmotions also, which in of itself is why the sweet science is in the shape that is in.

Honestly though, I think he could probably be Wright, but he is not going to make it past Mayweather.

I like DLH as a fighter both technicallly and for his heart. he has a healthy size advantage over Mayweather and adequate handspeed to catch mayweather through out the fight. I can't wait for this fight and expect a technical battle that DLH can win, against Wright though I see him losing a UD rather soundly, just a feeling.

I think DLH is going to get wrecked by both of them. He's surely bigger than Floyd, but I think Floyd is gonna' dance all around him. If DLH can work his body, who knows what will happen. Winky will complete shutdown anything DLH has to work with, but I'm sure most people see it that way anyways.

Why would you say that?

He trains with Floyd Senior and this is the biggest fight of his entire career, I doubt He is overlooking Floyd
