Tom Stall 11-28-2006, 09:00 PM monson has shit cardio.... i said it before.... Perko 11-29-2006, 12:33 AM monson has shit cardio.... i said it before.... i disagree with that....jeff is very fit...however constantly shooting and failing throughout 3 rounds is difficult... the only reason he didnt get him down and submit him was a 40lb and 11 inch height disadvantage...jeff had to shoot from nearly 3 feet away giving tim all the time in the world to sprawl to defend against the takedown... Justice 11-30-2006, 05:29 PM because he didn't attack the leg, DAMN IT!! galenhousego 12-02-2006, 01:12 AM worst fight ever SneAkiE WeAZuLTeeFF 12-02-2006, 01:15 AM +1 Ŧħє Łєшãŋđσẅsķį 12-02-2006, 07:05 AM TUF newb raped Rachelle Leah. ninjashoes 12-02-2006, 08:27 AM He couldnt take him down and when he finally did he was too tired and didnt have enough time. His whole stategy was dependant on the takedown and all Sylvia had to do was wait for the same damn move over and over again. Educate 12-02-2006, 01:04 PM He should of tried something besides the guillotine twice. Evil 12-02-2006, 05:34 PM He should have went for a leg when he had the chance... skunknuts[ADR] 12-03-2006, 12:14 AM He wasted energy taking unsuccessful shots and when he had the chance for the finish, he was burnt Resin 12-04-2006, 01:11 AM Sprawl and Pray by Tim gavutlity11 12-04-2006, 09:11 PM And the problem seemed to be that all Tim had to do was semi sprawl. But he does have a very good takedown defense, not great, but very good. Also, when you go to shoot on someone who has that much of an advantage it is really hard to take them down. Jiu Jitsu. The crowd was electric that night, everyone wanted Monson to win. Jason 12-19-2006, 06:25 AM Monsons ground game is over-rated, in ADCC he just lays and prays, he never subs people like Roger Gracie and others Squirrel 12-19-2006, 06:32 AM I still have not watched this fight. I abviously know the results but..... SneAkiE WeAZuLTeeFF 12-19-2006, 07:01 AM i hav no urge to watch it again. Chickenjorge 12-19-2006, 07:07 AM i disagree with that....jeff is very fit...however constantly shooting and failing throughout 3 rounds is difficult... the only reason he didnt get him down and submit him was a 40lb and 11 inch height disadvantage...jeff had to shoot from nearly 3 feet away giving tim all the time in the world to sprawl to defend against the takedown... just cuz he's buff as hell doesnt mean he's got good cardio, ex. vitor, & sometimes even crocop. Chickenjorge 12-19-2006, 07:11 AM another ex. alistair overeem. Man.O.Fire9 12-19-2006, 02:45 PM Probably because Tim is 6'8" and it took all Monson's energy to attempt to get Tim down so the few time's he finally did there was nothing he could do about it The Fire 12-21-2006, 04:26 AM Monsons ground game is over-rated, in ADCC he just lays and prays, he never subs people like Roger Gracie and others This is ecxactly correct. Monson won ADCC as a purple belt in BJJ by using his strength to gain positioning and ride it out for points. Very effective for winning sub grappling tournaments but not so much for mma. Ferguson [GDR] 12-21-2006, 06:08 AM yup jeff was just too tired. if the fight started on the ground, no matter what position, big timm-ah would've gotten submitted in 15 seconds flat. Sharkhunter 12-21-2006, 05:06 PM probably because they bareley touched the mat, and when they did, he had no energy. terrible matchup, size and style even with monsons skills on the ground. From what I hear they barely touched each other never mind the mat. |
