The Sydney Morning Herald reports that former super middleweight champion Anthony Mundine is looking for revenge against WBA/WBC champ Mikkel Kessler. Kessler holds a unanimous decision win over Mundine, and the tough Australian wants to settle the score.
Now that Kessler has been elevated to WBA "super champ" status, and the regular title has been made vacant, Mundine is hoping to be in the running for a shot at the vacant title. Mundine expects a bout against either Jeff Lacy or Sam Soliman, next February or March, with the vacant WBA super middleweight title possibly in the mix.
"I'm looking to take on the best … it doesn't matter who it is, I really feel like I could take on anybody in the world today," Mundine said. "I just have that belief and confidence in myself that I can do big things in boxing and become one of the best pound-for-pound within the next 18 months."
