Pet love

Outside of my the relationship with my wife, I seem to care more for my dogs then family members. Example-A few years ago my dog that I had for the better part of my life, 16 years, passed away. I wept for that sucker. Now when one of my best friends passed away a couple of years ago and my grandmother last year the grieving was a lot less. The love for my friend and grandmother was far stronger, but for some reason it just seems easier to grieve for a pet than for people.
I think about this becuase I've got family who are getting long in the years and I don't see myself really upset that they are going to pass, but if one of my dogs were to go I'd be sad as hell.

I don't want anything to do with death. I have never been to a funeral for that reason. I want to remember people how they were and not how they are. I'm sure that I will be very sad when my cat dies. She makes me laugh almost once a day and talks a bunch. This probably has nothing to do with what you were discussing but I am hungover and wanted to make a post.

I think it falls into the same category. I believe that we as people are generally afraid of death, so the death of a person is much harder to deal with than the loss of a pet. Maybe its an auto-defense that we programmed ourselves with to avoid the pain.

yeah i've raised my cat from birth and i'll probably be pretty depressed when she passes away. whereas i didn't even go to the funeral for my uncle because he was an asshole. animals are lovable because they can't talk and expose themselves as arrogant, suprerficial retards.

well i really hope your a chic, becuase if your a dude and you cried about a dog, uhhh.... well i thought about this the other day when my dog died. animals dont have souls, so there is no afterlife for them, so you will never see them again. if a close friend dies, you will see them again (well depends on what you believe in but you get the point) someday. so the pets death is eternal thats why it can be harder.

i feel ya dude, ive lost some family members. it was upsetting but i duno wat im gonna do wen i lose my dog, ive had her since i was 5 and im 21 now. she is old as hell but still runs around like a pup, even tho she is blind as fuck. i know wen she goes its gonna be tough. i hate to even think about it.

My dog was an american pitbull bitch.She was tough & highly intelligent.She wouldnt befriend strangers or let people pat her.Only family and my real friends could get near her.
When I gave her to mum and dad they had 2 foxies and she used to be their protector.One day the male Jack Russell[he was crazy] got out of the yard and tried to fight a much bigger dog, so while he was getting his ass kicked I let her out and she hammered this fuckin thing for messin with her little buddy.
Smartest dog ever she was.And she kicked ass.
Theyre illegal, in Australia now.

daschunds are pretty loyal, but it depends. i got lucky with my dog, hes loyal,doesnt run away,good with kids,energetic,doesnt bite unless you like repeatedly fuck with him and at that point its just him protecting himself. i think maybe he is this way becuz we didnt get his balls hacked off. best dog ive ever had, the previous one could get mean but i guess thats cuz i fucked with him alot.
