Would it be thought to be in bad taste to slam someone during class? The reason I ask is because on Tuesday during class I had an opportunity on someone and I didn't pull the trigger so to speak. Reason being is I thought that it might not be the most prudent thing to do. Just trying to gather opinion here.
Was this BJJ or MMA?
Generally it's not really cool to slam people in sparring because they're your training partners and you want them to be good for the next session. I never slam people in BJJ but sometimes do it in MMA although never full power.
Give us some details of the situation.

It was BJJ geared towards MMA. I kind of figured it was a no no thing to do so thats why I stopped.
Scenario was working from guard. Goal was to get out of the other person's guard. He threw up and caught me in an armbar but not tight. I was kind of postured up and had my left hand clasped with my right hand. I just got this shot of energy/adrenaline and thought about it for a split second.

I wouldn't have been able to Rampage the guy.. but just a slight pick up and drop.

When I'm in that situation I clasp my hands together and shake them off but I don't really slam them.

never slam someone. The point of training is to learn and safety presides over everything in training. Get hurt in a competition or the ring, not in the gym That's the point right?

You shouldn't slam people.
There's a couple of videos of people in tournaments who've become paralyzed because of it.
...and you can't sue them - part of the contract you signed included a waiver to not file a lawsuit in the event of injury, etc.

say no to slamming in practice. you can shake someone off fairly easily and end up w/ a pass if you just pick them up anyway.
