Lightweight champion will devote to boxing promoter career

Four time world champion, Acelino "Popo" Freitas announced today that he will retire. According to the Brazilian boxer, his last fight was the victory over American Zahir Raheem, last April 29th, when he won his forth world title, now for the WBO.

Popo said that he always wanted to end his career at 30 years old. " Now, I´m going to devote to my boxing promoter career and to my social projects," explained Freitas.

he got his as kicked by Corrales, he had to give up in the 10th because of the beating he was getting
I think that might have hurt his confidence

Sad to see him go, he was an excellent boxer. I really enjoyed his fight against Raheem and was hoping to see him again.

I think the Corrales fight really ruined him psychologically as a fighter, it's a real shame, he was a truly entertaining fighter to watch.
