Wait. You have an internal SATA HDD? If that's the case the connector for eSATA won't work on it. Why can't you connect the HDD internally?

Edit: Your motherboard had the SATA ports so I assume you mean you don't have the connector for the power?

If that's not the case then look at this and tell me which connector your hdd has:

yes,power is wht i meant
Well if it's the power connector then that's easy. Just buy a molex to SATA adaptor like the ones on this picture:

the one i am using right now is the bottom one.
the one i want to use(the new one) is the top one.
i think there is one thing that fits the smaller part of the top one coming out of my power supply.but not for the bigger part.

That makes no sense, that smaller port is the SATA interface that connects to the SATA ports on the motherboard. The power supply should have a connector for the larger power connector.
how do i connect the hd then? do i need a cord of some sort? i dread breaking another motherboard. so i am going to ask every stupid question.

It won't show up if there is no power GOD. You need to connect it to the PSU before it will work. If your PSU doesn't have the SATA power connector then you need to buy a set of these:

Read this guide GOD: http://www.mysuperpc.com/build/pc_sata_install_hard_floppy_drives.shtml
Make sure the onboard SATA is turned on in the BIOS and set for IDE or IDE+RAID (which ever the BIOS option gives).

Oh yeah, if you're running windows you'll need to format the HDD as well. Go to computer management via the control panel, select disk management and find the new drive and format it.
i will do these things.THANK YOU FOR THE HELP DUDE!

Great, I see you got it installed and working now.
You had me confused initially with the talk of connecting it externally with USB and stuff that's why I suggested eSATA at first. If I'd known you're just confused about how to install the drive I would have given the instructions from scratch and get this resolve in 2 post.
