Have you guys learned any Japanese?

I've been watching anime for quite a long time now, and I prefer the Japanese version with english subtitles. After all these years of watching, I havent picked up on anything..... I've learned a few words here and there but not enough to form a simple sentence. Anywho, I watched Poltergiest Report earlier today and realized that watching anime is not a good source to learn Japanese (for me that is). What about you guys?

I've learned a few words not many

I've learned the context in which you use - san , - chan, - sempai

niisan for brother niichan for sister

I think I've learned alot of stuff about Japanese culture

I dont really care that much though I probably wont ever go there. I just like manga/anime because the stories are good.

Yeah but after watching lots of it, you would think one would eventually pick up on it or at least a little bit.

you could probably learn from it so long as you had some kind of curriculum to go along with it otherwise another language will just be nonsense, you have to have some point where you can connect the dots
