Have Rickson and Roger ever gone at it in an official grappling match? If not, does anybody know if they do behind closed doors, and what happens?

I don't think Roger can pwn Rickson even at this age. He might have caught him if they train frequently (do they?) but Rickson really is the true zen master of grappling. Look at the link in a recent thread of his bout with Rigan Machado. His balance and timing are ridiculous...to be honest I haven't seen that kind of flow from Roger. Not to say he isn't good, he is certainly unreal in his own right, but Rickson is the only guy I've seen who makes his matches (even in high level competition--see Rigan/Rickson) look choreographed. I think he is the best at his art. Only father time can beat him.

yeah, thats kinda what i thought as well. i have NEVER seen another grappler that looks anywhere near as smooth or as in control as rickson ... he doesnt even look real sometimes. Roger doesnt have the same finesse as rickson, but also roger is still a very young guy and he is built a lot differently than rickson, and he is definitely either the best in the world right now, or one of the best, i would like to know how rickson stacks up against all of the modern competition today, because in my mind, i still honestly think he could take them all ....

Here is a link to an approx Rickson's record, not sure how updated it is. Says he beat Jacare but i dont see Roger Gracie there.

Roger's physical superiority would give him the edge I would think + Rickson is no spring chicken.

I have to say I think Roger takes it but from what they say about Rickson, I''d pay to see it!

I would say roger, considering he submitted 8 of his all opponents in adcc, and with the gi..and in todays comp that his a hell of an accomplishment.
