I got the new laptop and it has Vista, I'm a newb when it comes to this shit, how do I change to XP ???

you'll need a copy of the XP disc or an original and a product key for it. you want to reboot the computer with the disc in the drive, and it needs to be set to boot from CD first in the BIOS (it probably already is)

when it reboots it'll say "press a key to boot from CD" and you have 5 seconds to press something. then it will load up the XP setup program which may take a few minutes... pretty much just follow it's instructions on the screen. it mostly tells you what has to be done. come here if you have any problems! you have another computer to get on while you're doing that right?

no brudda, the reason I got this laptop is cause my house got broke into and the mother fuckers cleaned me out. my nephew has a XP disc so I will get it from him. but when XP gets loaded how would I take out the Vista ??

well then. during the windows XP setup it'll wipe out the hard drive and start it over from scratch.

when you get to the partitioning menu, just make sure you highlight and press "D" for any existing partition(aka drive letter) to delete them and after that, press "C" to make a new one with all available drive space.

does your nephew at least have another comp if you have problems?
