I watched this elimination bout on Showtime, 2 weeks ago, with a friend and was completely
disgusted with the outcome. I personally am not a fan of James Toney but I'll give him credit
for doing something out of the ordinary - fighting the other man's fight. I was expecting Toney
to just do the same shit he normally does: fighting off the ropes, but instead, he was the aggressor and was actually making the fight worth the watch. In Round 6(I think), Toney actually hit Peter with some effective combos and for a brief moment it looked as though he might actually KO Peter but the hard punching Peter managed to survive. I gave Toney the first 2 rounds, Peter the next 2 and then I'd go almost back & forth with the rounds:
Toney: Rounds 6, 7(just barely), 9, 11 & 12(just barely).
Peter: Rounds 5, 8, 10
Once it got to the scorecards I was in complete shock after hearing the results. 1 judge had
Toney 115 - 112 while the other 2 judges had Peter winning 116-111. If you saw this fight, what is your opinion on this ridiculous judging outcome?
