What I DO know: It's possible to get DirecTV in two houses, if say you have a second home and you want to add a receiver, thereby only being charged for the extra receiver and not a whole new package.
What I DON'T know: Is it possible to split DirecTV with someone else if they get the bill and you just want to add a receiver to your house, as if it was their second home?
If you pretend that a 2nd (3rd or 4th for that matter) unit is for a room in the house, after they set it up, you can move it to another house (even in a different city) if you have an extra DirectTV satellite and know how to set it up.
I guess you knew that part, but what I think is that DirectTV won't let you split a bill in half, but you can do it secretly like this if you do as described above. The extra charge per extra unit is only like $5.00

You just need another dish, I have service at my house and my pops has one of my receivers running at his. I just pay the extra 5.99 for the box. My brother in law works for direct tv, he has the max of five or six boxes under his contract and has them bootlegging at his mom's and sister's. Just pick up a satellite at a swap meet.
