View Full Version : Was adam drunk when he ate from the forbidden tree? Jason 07-30-2008, 07:45 AM Something to ponder. Maybe some fruit fermentation of natural sorts played a role..... Lord Krishna 07-30-2008, 08:44 AM dont know about adam, but you seem really high right now:sifone: Bloodshot 07-30-2008, 09:14 AM I dunno if your'e being sarcastic or not so...I don't think alcohol was influental in the eating of the apple. Because wine is involved in Christianity. Haven't pondered the part of the bible much. SolitaryIndividual 07-30-2008, 11:43 AM anus Bloodshot 07-30-2008, 04:08 PM Something that makes me ponder this is that in the bible after partaking of the fruit Adam and Eve found themselves more aware, in realization that they were naked. Now weed doesn't make you a rocket scientist, but it does open up ones mind to a different plane of thought. What'chu guys think? Am I just really baked? I wouldn't put weed in teh caregory of fruit as we know it, but the bible has several different terms for "fruit." Jason 07-30-2008, 04:52 PM Yeah bible mentions herbs as being all good. God likes pot. I just don't think he is too keen on alcoholic substances. So yes, this thread is serious. xcept68 07-30-2008, 06:45 PM since you are posing this as a serious question I will give you a serious answer for it. Firstly, the apple likely wasn't the forbidden fruit. That was destroyed in the flood and was a unique tree. Also as you stated, Adam getting drunk from the fruit, he would have had to eat the fruit first. And the effects wouldn't have been immediate as the stomach takes time to get it into the blood stream. The Bible states things when they happen first. So when Noah got drunk from the grapes he made into juice because it was not a known effect because the atmosphere was different before the flood. So Noah wasn't intending to get drunk. There was no alcohol before the flood according to the Bible. The fall and the knowledge of good and evil was from their first disobedience against God. This act changed them and all of creation as it was the first sin in a perfect world. The more you pour over the verses the more you will understand the meaning of it. I would suggest read over it several times and you will find it's true meaning. Bloodshot 07-30-2008, 09:13 PM Yeah bible mentions herbs as being all good. God likes pot. Can't argue there, it was just a thought. Jason 07-30-2008, 09:29 PM since you are posing this as a serious question I will give you a serious answer for it. Seems like when i want life inspiration i just open up the Qu'ran and find immediately a quote for just for me, everytime. I open up the bible and read 5 pages about some farmer and his offspring. Nothing too great. A thought, i guess..whatever Lord Krishna 07-30-2008, 09:30 PM the apple was laced with lsd Judoka 07-31-2008, 03:16 AM There are two things in the bible, wine and shit thats hard to believe. I wonder which came first. RoryZilla 07-31-2008, 03:47 AM Certain monkeys in Africa wait until some trees fruit starts to rot and turn to alcohol before they eat it. They do show signs of drunkeness. They have been video taped falling from trees and stumbling. So if you believe in creationism then yes...it is possible. I however believe in evolution. Thanks, Mgmt xcept68 08-04-2008, 12:29 AM Yes the Quran states that Christians were decieved and that Christ didn't die upon the cross but that God took Him. This worked it's way into the Q'uran from the Christians occupying the region at the time. Some of the Christians believed that Christ was too good to be crucified, just as it states in the New Testament that Peter wouldn't allow Jesus to wash his feet, saying that Jesus is too good to do such. So this was a misunderstanding by Christians at the time and actually ended up in the Q'uran. contradiction within the Quran itself. There is no denying that the Quran rejects the Deity of Jesus (cf. 4:171; 5:17, 70-75; 9:30). But, as we just saw, the Quran attributes titles, qualities and functions to Christ which shows that he is indeed God. Other titles given to Christ which affirm his essential Deity include the Word of God and a Spirit from God (cf. 3:39, 45; 4:171). A Muslim may say that Jesus was given the ability to create and give life by God, just as the passages themselves state. He didn't have this ability within himself. This response doesn't solve the contradiction, but only pushes it a step further. Why would God grant Jesus the abilities and characteristics of Deity? Why is God permitting Jesus to perfectly fit the description and fulfill the criteria which places one within the category of God? lancaster 08-04-2008, 04:11 AM contradiction within the Quran itself. Is it working? Do you feel better about yourself? Although I find your wording quite humorous. I don't even think I've ever heard or read something that makes as little sense as what you wrote.
