I think that was decided before the fight, he didnt want to stand in front of marga too long & he'd have to if he wanted to do enough body damage to make a difference

i hear ya but that wasnt the real margarito fighting williams. he didnt act like himself until the 6th or 7th rnd. and i dont wanna see a replay of that, which i think might happen: margarito didnt get up for that fight cause he had cotto in his sights and ended up losing. well he just tko'd cotto so how is he gonna get up for a rematch w/ williams. some may say he would bring his best to avenge a loss but i dont see how this fight is any diff from the first one. thats just my opinion tho, feel free to disagree tho

Margarito is a warrior and I don't buy for one second that he "didn't get up" for Williams or that he took him lightly. Williams was a lot like him in that he was being ducked left right and center and Marg had to know he was in for one hell of a fight. Don't discredit Williams like that.

i like how u are giving williams a lot of credit...i dont think its deserved but thats boxing. Quintana showed what williams was when he didnt get up for a fight, and williams ko'd his ass quick in the rematch. just scared marg is gonna come in flat if he fites williams again and i dont want that for him

I think Williams deserves all the credit in the world, he outworked Marg and took some vicious body and head shots that would have crumpled most guys.

I don't think Williams didn't get up for that fight with Quintana, Quintana is a very talented fighter and for the rematch I think Williams made the adjustment because he knew what he was up against. I don't like this "didn't get up for" or "came in flat" talk whenever an upset happens. Give QUintana and Williams credit for their respective wins, they fought their asses off for them.

Nah I'm not big on Quintana personally but I like to give guys their just due. If you want to believe that road warriors like Williams and Margarito, who spent most of their careers in obscurity, would take an opponent lightly when all the spotlights are on them than thats your business. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think thats stupid, personally. I never saw anything wrong with Marg or Williams other than the fact that they were outgunned on those nights.
