just walked in the door from watching it, and it truly fuckin murders anything ever. its so awesome. the performances were great, the music, the action, suspense, etc...

the only bad thing about it, was that i needed to piss badly about 15-20 minutes into it, but it was already so good i didnt want to miss it, not to mention i was at the very top row in the middle and i was too lazy to go. i prolly killed my bladder and kidneys or whatever, but it was still worth it. still bad asss fuckin movie

Heath Ledger's performance overshadowed Dent and Batman's appearance most of the time in the movie. HE PWNS

overall a really great movie

Ledgers performance as the Joker was legendary

a couple things bugged me though

Two Face not killing the joker but he goes after all the small people involved because the Joker is crazy??? didnt make sense really kinda bugged me

also the ending, how does the city benefit by blaming batman instead of two face? isnt batman a hero too?

Great movie I think I liked Batman Forever slightly better though

batman and gordon answered the last question at the end.

the city needed a clean cut good hero, and harvey dent was that. remember the city didnt know dent was two face, hell they didnt even know that two face existed. the last they knew he was fucked up in the blast, and the joker was at fault.

batman was a hero, but the city was turning against him, at least parts of it. u saw the press conference with dent when he gave himself up as batman, the reporters and the cops were basically calling for his head, saying things got worse since batman was around.

if they made dent the true hero the city would have a shining beacon of hope, if they knew he freaked out like that and lamost killed the commisioners son, killed the other cops, despite being dirty, and the other shit he was doing, they would lose hope cuz of another hero fallen.

the joker was sick, and sure he was crazy but he was diabolical, cunning, and outsmarted all of them by bringing dent down. he said it to batman as he was hanging upside down, how he knew if he could bring down the highest one of those 3(batman, gordon, and dent) then that would be the biggest blow to their cause that could be done.

the joker was a genius.

did anyone else pick up on the underlying messages they were trying to send in the movie about terrorizm, anarchism and government? (i.e. Morgan freemans dilemma over anonymous wire tapping, and the joker making anti-government remarks, along with his quote "I choose chaos." It was also hard to ignore that there were huge explosions throughout the movie that where remenisant of the 9/11 attacks. The film was riddled with messages troubling viewers with questions about what exaclty is good and evil.

Yeah I understood that stuff for the most part I just thought it was kinda lame how Harvey suddenly didnt blame the Joker anymore and instead wanted to go kill all the little people involved when the Joker was really behind it all.

I understand that the Joker was supposed to be messin with his head. I just didnt like that part of the movie it felt too rushed and illogical.

As for the ending, it wasnt a big deal, just kinda left a bad taste in my mouth seeing the bat signal destroyed and Batman take the fall because of the people in Gotham needing to have hope, some gay stupid sounding crap lol.

Anyways dont get me wrong great fuckin movie, I loved it and will watch it again. I am just nitpicking a few things that sorta bugged me because I am a huge comic fan and love Batman.

I guess I didnt feel like Two Face was really getting his due, he needed more screen time...

SPOILER

When Dent came forward as being Batman don't you think people would notice that he was an arse chin face and batman wasn't? That's pretty much the only thing that made me think uyy.

With Batman taking the fall it just makes me more of a hero, more humble and doing what's best - I have no problem with that even though I think we all wanted to see Batman recognised for his good work.

YouFrgotPoland

Batman was the DARK night, he couldn't be the perfect hero. He was an anti-hero in this movie. And ultimately batman wants what is best for the city. People already had distaste for him because from their perspective he sat back and let the Joker kill innocent people instead of revealing himself. In the public's eye, Dent was the perfect hero. In their eyes he was that shimmering beacon of good, and couldn't be tainted. Had they let the public find out he had been tainted, there hope would be crushed terribly, in a time where it is continually crushed already.

The Joker was a genius. He convinced 2face that it wasn't worth it to go after him because he wasn't plotting against 2face, he just does things. The line was something like "i don't plan, I just do, and watch what happens".

also Batman needed a better batcave

that big white room was shitty compared to how badass the batcave usually looks

the batmobile should be cooler also, I understood having the crazy jumping car in the first batman because batman was basically just getting started

I think thats why they destroyed it in this movie so they can introduce a cooler batmobile in the next movie

Good points. I was thinking the same thing about martial laws and cameras watching everyone to make sure they don't ever do anything wrong.

Another social statement was the "criminal" grabbing the detonator of the boat and throwing it into the water because it was the right thing to do.

They did what Comic Book movies do when they fail.

They pack too much into a 2 and a half hour movie. the movie is already long, they should have had plenty of time to wrap everything up nicely but they put too much in. Harvey Dent should have just been fucked up by Joker and left to star in the next movie, not continue shooting people etcetera.

Also I agree about Harvey going around killing people. I thought it was retarded writing as well besides the fact that the Joker is hyper intelligent and manipulates people throughout the movie.

anyone else notice how even though the new batmans are not related to the old ones they are sort of taking the same direction. in batmans returns batman is in retirement and he comes out of it to fight the penguin and cat woman. in the dark knight hes killing off batman so he can live a normal life. similar things playing out. i know the next batman is going to take a steaming shit all over any of the old ones, it just seems like nolan is using similar story lines and expanding on them.

hopefully they will pick one main villian and one obscure villian for the next one

Thats just an issue of length and putting too much into one movie.

Its like Spiderman 3. Too many characters and too much plot shoved into one movie.

This movie should have been about the Joker and that's all. Maybe at the end they could have shown Two-face being created and his girlfriend being blown away but trying to fit that storyline in was too much.

The only villain I can think of that could seem as epic as the Joker after that performance would be the Riddler. I mean I guess the Penguin but only if they had someone do it amazing and completely more so than the corny comic book character. But with the Riddler they have an opportunity to write some of the coolest twists and unexpected events.

*Spoiler Alert*

I think they should have left the film at the point where the joker gives two face the option to kill him. Seeing as how Ledger is dead now this would have made more sense and would have made for a good cliff hanger ending. Two face was just sort of thrown in there. He didn't seem really developed at all. In my opinion the film just fizzled out after the hospital scene. The whole using cell phones as sonar was stupid. Also, Bale's voice as Batman is way over the top. They need to tone that shit down.

Yeah, I agree. Except, I don't think the movie should have been stopped after the hospital thing--that was no a good enough climax. It was a great build up but about 2/3rds of the way in (about at the hospital scene), I had the feeling you get when you're having sex and you're about to have a good orgasm, but you end up cumming a little earlier than you expected it's sort of underwhelming and not timed right for the full impact. So instead of just enjoying the afterglow, you spend the next hour trying to reach the real height that you wanted, but it never works and it's just forced and uncomfortable.
