Korean store owners have probably suffered the most during the L.A. riots back in the early 90s. Here's a video of them fighting back.

I remember when that all went down I was just a little kid. Theres better footage than that though to be honest. Theres one where this guys driving a truck and these guys pull him out and beat the shit out of him then shoot him.

I remember watching that at the time and it never fully left my mind. I even remember some of those Korean dudes on the rooftop of their building with their guns and those long bullet proof vests protecting their livelyhood very well.

That was a strong testament to me that when I become an adult I want to be prepared for war... or at least prepared to protect my family and livelyhood.

Maybe you are referring to the incident that took place on the intersection of Florence and Normandy in Los Angeles, where Reginald ""Reggie" Denny was pulled out of his truck and almost killed by a mob of guys after the police had been ordered by Chief Darryl Gates to pull out of the area.

We watched him being stomped, bashed with a brick (or something), etc. on live T.V. for the longest time.

Damien "Football" Williams was later convicted for his part in it.

Sublime has a song about that day from the perspective of being in Long Beach in the middle of the looting.
