im sure this has been asked before but ive looked around and havent seen anything on it but does anyone no if there is a program out there that can be used to segment avi, nsv, wmv, etc. files?
ive been using nero to change files to dvd, then a dvd ripping program to segment fight cards into individual fights, but id love it if i could just chop it up straight away.
any thoughts?

Hmm.i guess i would just use Vegas or even Windows Movie Maker to edit them manually.

so i used vegas and it worked but gave me no audio and made the individual files huge. the whole event is under 700 mb but it turned a one round fight into a almost 500 mb file. i tried turning the fps rate down but it made the quality much worse and only made the file a little bit smaller.

Your file size will differ depending on what file format and size you render it as.
play around with it and i'm sure you'll find a happy medium.

^ that def worked thanks but for some reason all but one of the vids i segmented came out with no sound. i set it up so that the audio is supposed to split with it but am getting no love. any thoughts?

Hmmm.one time i accidentally hit the mute button on the sound layer.Maybe something simple like that?Also arent there a few sound options at the time of export that you can fuck with?(been a little while,no can remembo)

idk some of the segments have sound and some dont even though im doing the same thing with every one guess ill just reinstall and see if that changes anything thanks again for the assist.
