In about 15 hours I will be on a flight to Newark, NJ, from there to Sao Paulo, and finally destined for Rio. I'm going with my instructor who is a 4th degree brown belt. We're staying with his instructor Alexandre 'Grandao' Dos Santos Dantas, a 3rd degree black belt under Castillo Branco. He is getting promoted to black belt. I get back the 12th and hopefully I'll have some pretty sweet pictures and some pretty sweet stories.

Overall this was a great experience. The training was awesome. I got to roll with 2 purples, 2 browns, and 2 blacks. For a small guy I did pretty well. I only got tapped like 2 or 3 times, and escaped from bad positions well. Anyone into BJJ should make a trip down there to the Mecca of bjj.

is there a noticeable difference in brazilian style bjj and american (bc in my obvservation americans kinda "go for it more" while brazilians wait for you to make a mistake)?

and who is that female in your pic? and to follow that how are teh butches down there? and do they like americans?

It costed alot. Over a grand easily. Brazillians are fucking tough. Their style is very basic. They know all the little tricks, and flashy moves but work the basics. I can describe their style as "heavy". They really know how to use their weight, and are very punishing in about everything they do. They don't go easy on americans at all. They hated me at first just because. The female was a random person I saw in buzios that I asked to take a picture with. She was like flattered. But this is how I described the girls to one of my friends. About 80% of the girls have smoking hot bodies. And of that about only half have cute faces, and about a quarter have beautiful faces. The asses were unbelievable. I didn't speak Portugesse, so aproaching girls was akward and frustrating. If you spoke the language, I would imagine it would be easy to find a girl for the night. Next time I go, I assure you, I will speak some Portugesse.
