View Full Version : got my blue
Cameron 05-24-2008, 07:06 PM im part of a RGDA school run by a brown belt of royler so we dont get our belts until he comes down. he was down for a seminar which was amazing his stuff is so good and hes such a nice guy said one thing that never really clicked to me before " jiu-jitsu isnt about what you gona take from your opponent its what your opponent gives to you" i was always agressive with the sub and never saw it that way before and it jsut really hit home. at the end of the seminar he did our grading and i got my blue. also want to say congrats to all the other dudes that got thair blues and yellow belts at the seminar.

Cameron 05-25-2008, 10:22 AM Congratulations dude!! Awesome! What kind of stuff did Royler teach?
royler taught a bunch of good stuff. some pretty basic shit cause we had a seminar of a lot of newbs but he also taught a bunch of open guard sweeps and passes. he taught a sweet little combo of closed guard passes all of which i had seem before but such a combination that it made the easy passes flow together a become a really good weapon. plus hes a supper nice guy and anyone that has the chance has to train with him hes bomb.
Sloth 05-25-2008, 01:21 PM Cool, he's doing a seminar not far from me and I was thinking of checking it out if I can get the money/ride situation together. I'd like to see what basic stuff he does and how he does it. (what details he does that make it work for him againt good guys)
Cameron 05-25-2008, 08:09 PM sloth you have to check it out this is the second seminar ive done with him. ive done one with royce and ganyao fairtex and by far royler is the best. shows a lot of detail and answers the questions really well.

Nice, thanks! I'm psyched, he's about my size too which is cool. I always like to see what high level smallish guys have to teach and how they do stuff.
