View Full Version : Poorman's workout?
abelinkinyang 05-24-2008, 02:06 PM Speaking for all the guys who had to train with no equipments. Can anyone share what they did when, no weights, perfect push ups, or any equipment were available to them. I would really be more interested in mma or strength type of workouts. So far I could think is jogging, shadow boxing, push up, sit ups, and thats pretty much it. I would appreciate anything u guys have.
TapOut136 05-24-2008, 02:47 PM Your options are pretty limited if you don't have any equipment and have no plans to build or buy any. You can do bodyweight exercises, but at some point you'll need to add resistance so you'll have to address that. MMA is a very complex sport to train for. It's unclear how you would (or why you want to) attempt this in a serious manor without access to equipment.
Chickenjorge 05-24-2008, 02:50 PM lol. fuckin cheapass.
kronker 05-24-2008, 03:49 PM Yeah pretty tough.
Steal some tires and a slede hammer for shoulder/core conditioning. Flip the tire for explosive hip power. Smash it with the sledge hammer using both sides of the shoulder.
Oh, you can work on your cardio by fucking hotnewton's mom.

beastskills will make you a bad ass. Why can't you afford a 300lb weight set? It's only like 200 dollars.

blevunly 05-26-2008, 05:46 AM Clapping headstand pushups?
Yep
ItBurnzWhenIP 05-30-2008, 02:05 AM ^That is insane. I was just gonna say get a backpack keep it high up on your back/shoulders and do pushups with it for chest
CreatureCore 05-31-2008, 06:47 PM Honestly you just need a set of weights to do just about everything. Then you can use that and your own body weight combined with stuff around you outside to get a complete work out. Or you could go the Arnold route and just lift milk jugs filled with water and then later sand when you get stronger.
Nosmilez 05-31-2008, 10:46 PM the beastskills stuff is interesting. the pistols are fun to master

yes this is great i live in the dessert so rocks and trees are not hard to come by,to add to this list of greatness you could punch a cactus and run barefoot on smoldering coals it will build endurance as well as resistance to fire in case you ever duel a fire breathing dragon. you may also wield petrified wood sticks they are great for the shoulders.tumbleweed <--- that is a cactus, you could always sneak in the back of a supermarket and punch frozen meat products

one of the best workouts, good if you like jump foward with one two's or explosive double legs
GiantRobotDelux 06-03-2008, 07:41 PM Do pushups with your fist closed with something soft underneath so you don't hurt your knuckles.
1.Do as many as you can as slowly as you can.
2. rest for 2 minutes, drink some water.
3. Rep2: Do as many as you can as slowly as you can
4. rest for 2 minutes, drink some water
5. Rep3: eleavate legs, do as many as you can.
6. rest... fucking rest is the most important part.
If you have joint pain, stop.
take it easy the first week, untill you gain muscle endurance.

use cement or wood or your balls will shrivel up
Nanoid 06-05-2008, 06:36 PM Have you read Naked Warrior by Pavel? His version of the one arm pushup is great for learning to generate very high levels of body tension. This will help your grappling.
