View Full Version : smokers/non sanctioned fights mafiafightgear 05-12-2008, 04:04 AM lame jetjaguar 05-12-2008, 04:13 AM come up to SF, Fairtex and Fight & Fitness put on smokers a couple times a year mafiafightgear 05-12-2008, 04:17 AM lame TapOut136 05-12-2008, 04:35 AM Do a google search for Fairtex you should be able to find contact information. I'm not sure about the logic of smokers being best training however. Your tone sounds a bit ominous also. This seems like a post from someone without a training camp, coach, much if any formal training, and very little to lose. mafiafightgear 05-12-2008, 04:44 AM lame TapOut136 05-12-2008, 09:56 AM lame I agree 100% beetsh 05-12-2008, 01:48 PM what happened here then.... Rob 05-12-2008, 02:22 PM what happened here then.... He pulled a BRN. jetjaguar 05-12-2008, 06:18 PM lame don't let haters bum you out. competition is a great way to test your skills. I'm not a member of either of these schools so I can't help you with any contact info. But I'm sure an email or call to either will put you in the right direction. mafiafightgear 05-14-2008, 04:02 AM don't let haters bum you out. competition is a great way to test your skills. I erased my post for the reason why I really dont post in forums in the first place. I could rattle off a bunch of places ive trained at here in san luis obispo at Budo Ryu under Kru Albert and Eric Sandahl who are great Muay Thai instructors and (Justin Worm) Morgan my grappling coach who is also a pro am boxer to training at The famous "Pit" or earlier called Slo Kick boxing owned by John Hackleman with cheif instructor Chuck Liddell. Not to mention my Father was 10 degree black belt and instructor at kim Soo Karate in Houston, TX (one of kim soo's first students in America). But this shit doesnt matter to anyone here, neither does a single person know who i am or even my name in these forums. BUT DICKS ARE DICKS. And for the most part I know that dicks that say stuff like "ive never had any formal training"(like they know me from a post) and for the most part have never had and training themselves and pretty much dont have the balls to step into a ring or even participate in a back yard brawl. Normally they're the guy who sits in front of there TV all day and think that they know all about the sport because they have seen every season of The ultimate fighter. Im 27 years old, Divorced and have nothing to prove to any weekend warrior on this site. This forum was recommended to me by a a guy I train with to link myself to other fighters that may want to roll, train or improve there skills or help other am. fighters like myself get further into the sport. I have by far never been in a sanctioned fight, although I have had a couple non sanctioned and was scared shitless fighting nhb with headgear and shinpads. With that said, I love the rush that a 3 minute round can give you and all the training, injuries and sacrifices that come with it. Theres nothing better than going to work where im a retail manager sporting a huge mouse under my eye and when people ask what happened with a smile I say "I got my ass kicked last night at the gym" . mafiafightgear 05-14-2008, 04:06 AM I erased my post for the reason why I really dont post in forums in the first place. TapOut136 05-14-2008, 09:42 AM It sounds like you’ve trained for over a decade (including time spent working with professional fighters). However, it’s difficult to understand why you want to continue fighting with random people without compensation in unsanctioned matches. Maybe you have good reasons that you just haven’t shared yet. beetsh 05-14-2008, 10:40 AM lets try and get these posts shorter and to the point. so your going to get a fight lined up in mt? good. mafiafightgear 05-15-2008, 02:32 AM [QUOTE=TapOut136;956095]It sounds like you’ve trained for over a decade (including time spent working with professional fighters). Training/ Fighting is my outlet away from the stress of retail, debt problems and so on.. Im def. not good enough, or have the skill to fight matches that provide compensation. pokey 05-15-2008, 03:26 AM The sport to me is a hobby and not a job, my job is what I do best which is managing people.
