Sup Ninja's just started Muay Thai and wanna know when I'll be able to compete in some tournaments it seems to me my teacher is treating me like an amateur and making me take it slow. BTW I'm very athletically gifted (Always excelled in school sports) and have a big dedication to whatever Im doing. How long roughly?

Thanks

Tito-Fan

i still dont know whether to take you seriously or not.

you just started but you are pissed that your teacher treats you like an amature...as oppose to the pro you really are?

gifted or not, your teacher knows way more than you do.listen to him and learn some respect, unlike your idol.

regardless, you can go on a fight whenever you like.iv'e seen some really horrible guys fighting tournaments.as long as your trainer matched you up with a guy at about your level, you should be as fine as any guy going on a fight.knowing how to defend yourself properly,at least on a basic level,is mostly recommended.

Start with some basic information on the nature of your athletic gifts.

When some random kid walks in off the street they might wait 6-12 months before allowing you to spar at most serious boxing or kickboxing gyms

Im 6"3 homie.

Wanna win some titles by this time next year y'know? Sucks training with amateurs but I understand I gotta learn the fundamentals first to progress.

Sorry this is getting hard to follow (still assuming you're serious)...

So the fact that you're 6'3" is the athletic gift that caused you to start this thread? Or was there something else?

Also, the only titles right now that mean anything are in the UFC. The list of people that are only a year away from those is very short.

so youre a pro who doesnt know the fundamentals...

ok,got it.

here's my advice to you - fuck your coach,he should be grateful for having the chance to teach you but the prick shows no respect what so ever.fuck him,go fight the baddest dude out there.after that call dana white and tell him you are athletically gifted, this should suffice.just make sure you have the answers to joe rogan's future questions about your secret and how you became a UFC champion in less than a year.

you're probably way too good to train anyway. anything you learn will only take away from your natural talents. just do some squat thrusts and pushups and you'll probably be ready for pete spratt by next month.

bwahahahaha!!!

you got pwned tito fan!

i reckon you wanna do some hard sparring to lose the arrogance. im bigger than you and have had my ass handed to me by guys that are a lot smaller than me. experience and skill are where its at in a fight and the only way to get them is by putting in the time.

train - spar - then you'll know. if your up for it have a few novice fights.

i reckon you could be competing withing 6 months if you were dedicated and in reasonable shape to start with. mt isnt really that complicated to master the basic moves. its the puting together and anticipating and counteracting three steps ahead shit that takes a while to pick up.

The hardest part will be overcoming my injuries that prevent me to train (hence why I sit out of skipping) but Im not a pussy that cries I can bear the pain.

squat thrusts will have him pwning ppl in no time flat!!! after a few smoker matches he can fly his athletically gifted ass to thailand & fight at lumpinee or rajadamnern stadium... who knows, he might be in the next cast of ong bak...

i think u can actually sign up for fights if u call the promoter.

danxgerous
06-02-2008, 06:56 PM
seriously. nothing is stopping you from competing. go call the local smokers and sign yourself up. register for local tourneys or whatever. you dont need your instructor's permission. what does he know anyway?

lol this thread is rediculous

bro i dont know you but you sound like a jackass but if you are seirous maybe you should sit down with your coach and explain to him how you feel and that you want to seriously compete you dont have to say ur gifted or that you train with amatuers any good coach that is aware of an athletes committment will take full advantage of it as long as you also show that you are busting your ass training and some repsect

Are killing people in the gym?

If not, STFU and listen to your teacher. If so, KO your teacher, take over the gym and hold tourneys every night.

I had it out with my teacher and quit my gym. Im only doing this shit cos next year I'll be moving to a university where I can train at an MMA gym. Next summer I'll be hitting up xtreme couture somewhere in Cali I havent decided yet.

Next week I start my new gym. People tell me its not as good as the old one I went to but you get more independance at this one and its closer to me meaning I can get the best grades as I get more time to study.

Try taking it slow and doing what your teacher tells you, he knows better than you almost certainly. I don't want to imagine the person who has it out with his teacher and has to leave. It's probably your fault as a human being, but heh what do I know probably not much.
