I'm finally gonna go ahead and get one and can't make up my mind.


PS3 pros- Free online, (Controller I'm used too)

X360 pros- Saints row, More friends have this

if it helps any, with some cable providers the PS3 will crash your network every time it tries to access it. it just steals the first IP it finds when it tries to connect.

360 - loud as hell, overheats and dies, best selection of games, Xbox live is still a bit better than PSN

PS3 - free online, super quiet, doesent overheat, not as many games, PS3 version of UT3 can use user made mods, blu ray player

its up to you, the best games are on both systems

360 for better game selection, and what Odin said about PS3 internet connection fucking up is true as well. It hardly ever works at my house, or will repeatedly time out trying to download an update.

my ps3 has never had any problems with shaw digital cable and 3 computers on the same internets.

This had been done to death though. unless you provide us with some details your looking for in a system you will probably only hear the same old answer.

I just own a 360. I do plan on getting a PS3 soon.

But to put some views on the 360,
Pros
Great game selection.
A couple of exclusives for only 360.
I have heard the Live Market Place and game lobbies are easier to navigate.
Have 3 choices of what 360 model would suit you.

Cons
I did get 2 red lights on my first 360 twice, but I just turned it off and restarted it.
The disc drive went out and it wouldn't eject any games. The green light just blinked.
It is loud, but not terribly loud.
Does heat up rather fast.

Do what the rest of us are doing and just get a 360 until the price of the PS3 drops and Metal Gear Solid 4 hits.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I want to get a PS3 but they're so damn expensive.
I'm fairly loyal to sony so i'll probably wait it out for the price to drop on the PS3.

I'm pretty sure i didn't help your decision lol. My bad. I was just kinda butting in because i'm in the same situation. The main factor in my decision is that everyone i know who has a 360 has had problems with it.

PS3 - Blu Ray, free online games, MGS4 and FF games

the models that came out last are said to be improved.

I'm getting a 360 with blue ray whenever they come out and if I can afford it.

Microsoft has tried to change the problems with the 360. When my first went out, they sent me a brand new one that was made just weeks before I got it. I sold that and the guy hasn't had a problem with it. And that was almost a year ago. The one that went out on me was almost 2 years old.

My elite is still going strong.

It costs about $100 to send it in to be fixed by Microsoft. You get a 1-year warranty for it also. Since they fucked up 3 times on sending me a box to ship my 360 in, they gave me a free 1-month gold account.

MGS4 will probably arrive on the 360 as well.
