Chaz 04-29-2008, 10:00 AM Great Performance by Yoon soon he will have KO power after he punched that guy so hard he did a black flip. nzjujitsu 04-29-2008, 10:09 AM when did this start!!!! uGotKTFO 04-29-2008, 10:15 AM 3 or 4 am EST I think. Can't remember exactly. I only started watching 5 minutes into JZ/Aoki because I didn't realise they had found a source for the stream. :owned: Zelg Galesic just won with a nice armbar. Totally hanging off the guy. cmrt 04-29-2008, 02:40 PM how did calvancante vs aoki fight go? CreatureCore 04-29-2008, 02:59 PM Not much offense by JZ, but at the same time not much offense from aoki either. Aoki just controlled the fight through his rubber gaurd and had JZs back for a while. What aoki did was just jump right at JZ and grab onto him with his legs so need for even a take down. The guy is so dam long. Second round Aoki refused to stand up with JZ and just dropped down to the butt scoot. Second JZ went for a punch he got him all tied up in his rubber guard again. DieOff 04-29-2008, 03:00 PM I knew Kang was gonna lose. Kang lost via triangle choke Elduderino 04-29-2008, 03:09 PM fuck me.... kang looked like an amatuer getting caught in the triangle, those stupid hammer fists when in that position were ridiculous. He was dominating uptil that point and should have stopped it already with that earlier Kimura. WTF Kang ! WTF Aoki is the man, he dominated JZ and was close to stopping the fight a couple times. I thought he was out though early in the fight when JZ was in the heel hook and heeled him in the jaw P.s - War Jarace!! he is now my pick for the MW GP (Aoki LW GP!) D.O. 04-29-2008, 03:46 PM fuck me.... kang looked like an amatuer getting caught in the triangle, those stupid hammer fists when in that position were ridiculous. I don't think you can say he dominated him. He undoubtably outgrappled him, that for sure tho. The only thing that was remotely close to a finish was probably the omaplata. I definitely think having the due over helped a ton in his gameplaning though. He went from basically shooting for singles to pulling guard, which I think was a huge factor in how he was able to get the fight to the ground. JZ gave a little too much respect to Aoki's grappling too, and his lack of aggression hurt him. The one time when he had him hurt, he should have been able to finish it. Oh well, he was only contracted in DREAM for the tourney.... maybe he'll come on over to America  As for Kang-Mousasi... WAR Mousasi! I had him winning that fight, and was surprised people didn't think it was closer. Jacare looked liked an animal. I mean, his opponent didn't really know what was going on, but Jacare impressed nonetheless. Zelg Galesic pulling off an armbar made me laugh. Funaki needs to call it quits. Not "dominated" per say, as in destoryed him and beat him up, more like dominated, as in JZ wasn't able to mount any offense throughout almost the entire fight, and It was very clear cut start to finish. Aoki was close to finishing it with the omaplata and a deep Heel hook, not to mention he had JZ's back for the bulk of the first round constantly looking for a RNC (with a body triangle no less) I do agree JZ should have be able to finish it when he had him hurt early. But outside of that, the entire fight was onesided IMO. And I'd have to agree the due over likely helped Aoki, cause this didnt resemble the start of there last fight at all D.O. 04-29-2008, 04:40 PM I definitely have to disagree on him being close to finishing with that heel hook tho. All he had to do was hit him to get him to let go. He just didn't have it long enough where the thought of tapping probably ever crossed his mind. Same with the RNC stuff... wasn't really close to even getting it locked in, just had great position. It still kills me though that JZ didn't punish him for pulling guard so many times (where were the knees?), and that he didn't just back off and make him stand up right away a few of those times. Not that he unleashed his hands when they were standing tho... WAAAY too tentative... JZ beats a lot of guys by using his power and aggression to just bulldoze through em... He certainly didn't give himself the oppertunity to get that done in that fight tho. thereisnoway 04-29-2008, 04:41 PM Zelg Galesic pulling off an armbar made me laugh. made me laugh too but it was actually pretty nice. thereisnoway 04-29-2008, 04:45 PM With the JZ fight, I think what happened was he decided to carry Aoki on his back for half the first round. After that he didn't have the same energy and hardly put up a fight. Pulling guard should not be a dominating strategy. dynamitemitch 04-29-2008, 05:29 PM damn it Kang!! peter 04-29-2008, 06:08 PM Second round Aoki refused to stand up with JZ and just dropped down to the butt scoot. Second JZ went for a punch he got him all tied up in his rubber guard again. This is just wrong, I love grappling in fights, but please I don't ever want to see fighter do that again. It's such a pussy move to just drop down to your ass in a fight. If I were JZ I would just keep the distance and let the retard drop to his ass the whole fight and show him the finger every time he does that. Neo_Pop 04-29-2008, 06:30 PM Both fighters looked extremely tense to me and neither JZ or Aoki looked dominant. What Aoki did, however, was the turn fight into a grappling match and hold the dominant position. I think that's what won him the fight. The omaplata to armbar look solid, a lesser fighter would not have survived that. Ultimately, Aoki's came closest to finishing and that earned him the victory. It appeared Kang learned his lesson from the Bushido GP and tried to finish the fight early. He looked quicker and stronger but he showed no respect for Mousasi's ground skills and gift-wrapped the triangle to Mousasi. It was good to see Sakuraba coming to the ring again. But it was also sad. He looks like a faded picture of his former self. Getting old sucks. Obi Narb Kenobi 04-29-2008, 07:17 PM can we finally take kang out of the top 10? god damn this guy is a great fighter but he's not consistant enough to be a top ten guy and mma weekly has him at number 4! D.O. 04-29-2008, 08:19 PM can we finally take kang out of the top 10? god damn this guy is a decent fighter but he's not consistant enough to be a top ten guy and mma weekly has him at number 4! Fixed. And yes. Elduderino 04-29-2008, 08:47 PM I love Kang, but he's certinaly not top 10 .. and Aoki was pulling guard from the clinch and he did a great job at getting the fight to play to his stengths. I didnt find the fight boring for a second. JZ was the one trying to do ground and pound alot of the time, which was his own mistake. Aoki stood with him enough that JZ could have implimented an agressive offense, but didnt. It was all in all a very sad showing for JZ and very strong showing for Aoki. Even though I actually believe JZ is the better fighter abelinkinyang 04-29-2008, 11:22 PM I definitely have to disagree on him being close to finishing with that heel hook tho. I think he should fight Taiei Kin. vBulletin® v3.7.4, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. |
