My personal favorite is shining force 2 on sega genesis and then probably final fantasy 7

Knights of the old Republic 1 and 2 were pretty fun but I never beat the 2nd one.

Final Fantasy 7

I've never played any of the final fantasys. I use to work at EB Games and use to get headaches when people would explain the story line to me. Like Final Fantasy 3 is actually 2 or something. From what you guys are saying I get the feeling that Final Fantasy 7 is the better one?

I liked 7 better because of the atmostphere, 3 has some classic parts though like the train and the opera.

Earth Bound was the shiit

VI was all cutscenes. it was 20 minutes of gameplay and then 40 of cutscene. it was a big deal at the time because it was the first game that truely utilized the at the time massive size of CDs as opposed to cartridges. that game wouldnt have sold or be remembered for dick-off if it werent for that fact alone. i love RPGs, they are my favorite genre of games. that one bored me to tears. i couldnt play it. and i have tried. many, many, many times. if you want a final fantasy thatll suck you in and keep you there, play 11. other than that, they are the corvette of RPGs. flashy to look at, but pretty generic as they go.

Final Fantasy 2/3/5. FF5 was awsome because of the old school "Job Classes" and the massive selection of them.

The RPGs I have gotten the most out of was EarthBound, Final Fantasy 3, and Ogre Battle.


Im very dissappointed nobody has mentioned either of the Lufia games.

I got to level 8 but it was driving me crazy taking so long to level, its like I would spend an hour trying to find a group that needed a warrior then someone would die or something and it would be back to square one

Fallout was great! fallout 2 was even better, very good storyline, funny and entertaining, great characters. if you have never played them, you should check em out.

im playing fallout 2 for the first time ever right now. it is very funny, and very entertaining. yay for my roommate making me play it.

I always liked the Shadowrun games for both the SNES and Genesis, those were great. But my favorite RPG would have to be FF3, I always liked the amount of content and the amount of characters you could get. I dont care what anyone says the Yeti kicked ass.

The Elder Scrolls games, I've only played Morrowind and Oblivion but they both kick ass.

I used to play for a while. I hated how you need to join pts to level. Its not even worth trying to level on your own. In the end itt got boring since all we did was kill stuff to get more money. What I did like was the interaction with people from a totally different culture. That was interesting

Final Fantasy VII was the best of all time.

My favorite RPG series is Suikoden. The first 2 for the Playstation are two of my top favorite games of all time. The main villian in Suikoden 2, Luca Blight, is one of the most bad-ass villians in gaming history.

Im gonna have to go with either Final Fantasy 7 or Shining Force 2

FF 7 cmon this WAS the RPG to play for awhile.

FF7 was so awesome at the time, it still is, but it was one of the first games I remember just being like "wow" while I was playing.

Chrono Trigger, FF7, Zelda a link to the past were all my favoriets about 10 years ago or so. Then it was Diablo and Diablo II.

Now I would have to say they are all a distant second to WoW. In some ways the ones mentioned before will offer more, but all around I dont think any RPG will offer what WoW does. Not to mention the world actually changes Bi-Monthly.

i'm not that big on RPGs but its def not Final Fantasy 7. that game is over rated IMO. I'd prefer old school Super Mario RPG over most RPGs that i've played lately.
