parker 04-18-2008, 10:43 PM is there any supplements i can take after training that will get rid of the aches the following morning. id like to go running every morning but cant because my legs always feel dead from training the night before. creatine supplements would be no good as i am losing weight and doing lots of cardio
jetjaguar 04-18-2008, 10:59 PM nutritional yeast is good, mix it with cereal or protein shake
ninjashoes 04-18-2008, 11:08 PM eh some people glutamine can help
maybe some hmb to rebuild cell structure
bcaa's
yah protein
jomomma 04-19-2008, 02:50 AM are you doing long runs or what? I typically do sprint intervals which blast your cardio & make you tired quickly when you start but you generally get your cardio back faster & faster as you do more

It tastes terrible though.
Radar 04-19-2008, 12:45 PM Rugby teams use full-body ice baths to reduce the amount of all-over damage from hard training (think Diego Sanchez in TUF), plus there's a lot of evidence in vitamins C and E reducing delayed onset muscle soreness.
1. Ice bath (with warm shower after) - repeat X 3 or 4
2. Protein shake with glutamine, and C and E supplements
3. Lots of sleep
jukeboxhero 04-20-2008, 08:17 AM I've personally tried the Ice bath/warm shower. I'm not sure it helped any. I was still hella sore for a while.

It's better used for contact sports - like an all-over icepack, but the cold/hot/cold/hot thing is meant to flush blood through the muscles, theoretically removing waste products that cause all the pain.
Lethal730 04-20-2008, 03:05 PM Amphetamine has been known to give people that extra needed boost, might just be hear say tho so don't hold me to it
jomomma 04-20-2008, 08:53 PM oh you can also eat a banana, cantaloupe or other potassium rich foods. also make sure you warm up & cool down appropriatesly & youre muscles are stretched
supersudo 04-20-2008, 10:36 PM indian herb.. ashwagandha helps recovery and boosts immune system
it also is a mild sedative, aphrodisiac, and one of the side effects is VERY lucid dreaming
ninjashoes 04-20-2008, 11:13 PM yeah vitamin e and c are a must
you should be taking a good multivitamin and there will probably be even more c and e in your morning shake
Aiden 04-21-2008, 08:58 PM I take a multi-vitamin every morning and mix in some glutamine with my creatine every night.
the sk slinger 05-18-2008, 07:27 PM calcium, magnesium, potassium
w/ glutamine and whey
c, e, brewers yeast
taking muscle milk before bed since it is slow release nutrients...and more sleep will help....whats wrong with taking creatine? it puts on some weight but its only water weight...and goes away when you cycle off.
mma4life 05-22-2008, 12:39 AM Thanks to "nicm125" I ordered Cael Sanderson's recovery supplement. It works like a charm for me and tastes fine too. I ordered lemon lime (http://www.beundefeated.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=75) instead of orange. I found out later you can customize how much flavor you want. I'm planning to try this out next time around.
hotnewton 05-22-2008, 12:54 AM I eat a shit load of bananas. Seems to be helping.
Eat one right after weights.
Eat one before I go back for my 2nd workout.
Eat one halfway through the 2nd workout.
Multivitamin. Rest. Etc.... diet helps a lot too.
Nosmilez 05-24-2008, 03:49 PM i use vitamin e
